This is an awful tragedy, and what's especially frustrating is that the danger along this stretch of Nicholson Drive has been obvious for years. I've brought this up multiple times on our LSU postgame show. Every time I drive down Nicholson after a night game, I see students walking alone or in groups along the shoulder of the road, often just feet from passing vehicles. There are stretches with virtually no lighting. Just headlights and whatever moonlight happens to be available. It's incredibly dangerous, and it has been for years. I saw a comment on WAFB's Facebook page suggesting that DOTD doesn't want to install lighting until that section of Nicholson is widened, a project that could take years because of nearby utilities and the railroad. If that's accurate, it's simply unacceptable. Why can't temporary lighting be installed? The portable light towers used by highway construction crews would be a start. There has to be a way to illuminate this stretch of road while everyone waits for a permanent solution. Frankly, that entire area should be lit up like a football stadium on Saturday night. Large numbers of students and fans travel this road on foot, particularly after LSU games. We shouldn't have to wait years for a road-widening project to address an obvious safety hazard. Two people were struck by a vehicle, and one has tragically lost their life. It's heartbreaking, and it should be a wake-up call for everyone responsible for the safety of this roadway. Something needs to be done now. Not years from now. LSU student dies after two people struck by vehicle on Nicholson Drive wafb.com/2026/10/18/two-pede…

LSU is a cash cow for Baton Rouge. I don’t understand why LSU hasn’t exerted some political muscle to improve that entire area.

“This won’t happen in the USA because we have guns!” Wait. You think the police won’t arrest you if you shoot the “protestors”? I think when it happens, and it will, even red states will face the wrath of the federal government for not arresting you.

If I’m a local, I’m getting a few friends to mask up with me and infiltrate the mob before unleashing some beatings.

With multiple aspects of horse wagering stacked against retail bettors my handle has dropped significantly. However if they start blaring some Neil diamond in between races that changes everything.

what’s the difference between hand crafted and regular cocktails? besides double the price

A hand-crafted cocktail is engineered by a bearded hipster or by a lady who is in a roller derby league.

Pizza Hut in the 1980s was a better dining experience than half the restaurants charging $30 a plate today. Red plastic cups. Stained glass lamps. Personal pan pizzas. A jukebox. And somehow, that pizza tasted better than anything they serve now.

Easy Goer, was a chestnut son of Alydar out of Champion race mare Relaxing. Relaxing once won a Stake over males at the distance of 13-furlongs on dirt. Easy Goer ran a Ragozin figure of 0 in the Belmont Stakes. Same Ragozin as Secretariat got for his Belmont win.

Biggest scumbag I've ever encountered on Internet was a guy named DaHoss. Guy is a real piece of shit who loved to make fake accounts and lie. He recently resurfaced as Bernie Lootz, but toned his act down. I swore Saratoga Andy was DaHoss from the outset. Others said no.

Leslie Edwin. Ya’ll can talk crap about him being a doofus but - his teams were tough and physical. You can count on 1 hand how many times we got our asses kicked in 11 years. He put dudes in the league and won 10 games a year while playing “hide the quarterback”.
This is your day.
