We have due process in this country for a reason. We cannot allow the rule of law to be pushed to the wayside by the Trump administration.
I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.

Thank you, President Biden, for recognizing that there is no deadline on equality. The Equal Rights Amendment has satisfied all the requirements laid out in Article V of the Constitution. It is the 28th Amendment.

This day is long overdue, not only because it should have taken place 2 years after VA became the 38th state to ratify #ERA in 2020. Our country is nearly 250 years old. American women have waited long enough to be explicitly recognized as full equals in the Constitution.

For those who will attempt to overturn the #ERA, I say this: you cannot abide by the Constitution only when it suits your purposes. You cannot say you believe in equality of the sexes and still try to strike down the ERA. The ERA has met all the requirements of the Constitution.

It’s critical that EVERY vote be counted. Patience can be difficult at times but we know our neighbors in Pennsylvania know quite a bit about democracy and will allow election workers to complete their important task.
Across our Commonwealth, close to 7 million people cast their votes in a free and fair election.
The American democratic process was born in Pennsylvania and that process will play out.

Thank you, Maggie, for sharing your story. It is unacceptable that women are going through such anguish and pain. This election is an opportunity to say “enough” and elect a congressional majority and president who understand that we must make Roe the law nationwide once again.
Dealing with the grief of my miscarriage was hard enough — I can’t imagine living in fear of being prosecuted for what happened to me or not getting necessary health care.
But that's what some women & doctors now face because Trump-appointed justices overturned Roe v. Wade.
