I do hope everyone has a great time at @UKLabour conference. Missing out this yr but planning on going next. My experience last time was great, however was dissapointed with lack of affordable food and drink, as well as a the number of jumped up lobbyists from Surrey in suits.

Yes, conference is usually attended by older political nerds with decent disposable income, or paid lobbyists. But if we are a party for the working class, and the young SO much more needs to be done to improve accessibility to conference.

Wow! That is a hugely significant result. Middle East I understand finished a distant eighth in the Priorities Ballot. This means no stand alone debate on Israel despite efforts by the PSC and the hard left to force discussion involving genocide claims on the conference floor. Shows a) decision by Burnham and Miliband to show a tougher stance on Israel from the top has been vindicated.
b) The far left in Labour has been weakened every more than many thought
c) CLPs and affiliates want to discuss other issues including insourcing and public ownership, opportunities for young people, artificial intelligence in the interests of working people, rebuilding our economy for working people, public services, reindustrialising our communities.

If a foreign state has attacked the UK, you’d think all British politicians would unite in condemning that state. Not Reform. Their first response is to lash out at the Government, and try and make political capital out of the incident.

New system will be universal, free at the point of use, and funded by everybody, he says, and Labour will fight next general election on delivering it.

My initial reaction is this is good news. But, my little worry is that developers will just put prices up if people can get on the ladder less than 5k.
Let's be honest.
A lot of young people have stopped believing they'll ever own their own home.
That's what happens when rents are high, house prices are high, and saving for a deposit feels impossible.
My Labour government is stepping in to help.
With Your First Home, first-time buyers will be able to buy a new-build home with a deposit of just 2.5%.
Because hard work and saving should count for something.
And because the dream of owning your own home shouldn't belong only to those with help from the bank of Mum and Dad.
