One of the reasons that the west's comic book media is so ass is because California elites are self-worshipping and obsessed with the idea that stylization is for babies, and realism is "mature". Thus, they are just constantly trying to make themselves over and over again.
Stylization is an artists way of saying "Hm, how can I take aspects of reality and enhance them to communicate what I want about the character". 2B here is elegant and beautiful. She has stark white, unnatural hair. Her eyes are covered, and yet she looks confident and capable. She is obviously powerful both from the ratio of her body, the way that she stands and the massive weapon she carries. You can tell quite a bit about who she is as a person, and how mysterious
What does this picture of the new Wolverine game's Mystique say to you? She's... kinda old looking. Her body is pretty average. She's got orange hair and blue skin so classic Mystique look but like... It's not saying anything.
Jean Grey: fine aesthetic vs. Insomniac California realistic style.
