I think one of the biggest problems with Physical AI isn’t actually the AI.
It’s the data.
Think about it.
An LLM can learn from basically everything humans have put on the internet. Books, websites, conversations, code, images… there’s an almost ridiculous amount of data available.
But a robot can’t learn how to properly pick up a cup just by reading about it.
It needs to actually see the action, understand the movement, make mistakes, and learn from those interactions.
And that’s where @axisrobotics caught my attention.
Axis is building a data engine specifically for Physical AI, where people can generate robot training data through simulated environments instead of needing access to an actual robot sitting in a lab.
So you can essentially contribute to the process of teaching robots how to do things from your browser.
The interesting part for me isn’t just the fact that they’re collecting data.
It’s what happens when you start doing this at scale.
More people generating trajectories means more examples of how tasks can be completed, more edge cases, more failures to learn from, and ultimately better data for training physical AI systems.
We’ve spent years building infrastructure for AI that lives on screens.
Now we’re starting to build the infrastructure for AI that has to interact with the physical world.
And honestly, I think the companies building that data layer are going to be much more important than people realize right now.
