I am told I ‘wear my heart on my sleeve’, but I feel the burden of my heart is such that I need to take it out and hold it in my hand instead. My every action seems to be caused by my emotions and not my brain. I am a fairly logical person and yet… I let my heart rule my decisions. I have a knack for seeing things differently, I read the energy in actions before words are said. Call it my instinct. This work I share below which I thought I was making to convey my grief, turns out is a statement of what I am perpetually like… Don’t get me wrong, I am strong… but only when I put on another face. I am good at hiding hurt. I feel I am an artist, with many faces… and surprisingly each one is an authentic facet of me. Reflecting moments of me… opens many doors within myself to better see within. How will it help my growth? I don’t know yet. I am still on a journey, exploring my identity through my #creativityprocess. Little things matter. Graphite on paper Art by Fahmi Khan

So now we have to carry a smartphone 📱 , smartwatch ⌚ , smart eyeglasses 👓 , and now a keychain called @Muse by @meta with a screen and internet access that I need to talk to out loud while everyone is listening; I think the phone can do that faster, better, and more discreetly.

#aigabell Powiedz mi czego nie wiesz Nim spadnie deszcz Pomyślę też Zanim z ust mych zmyje łzę Powiedz czego nie wiesz Nim opadnie mgła Chcę poczuć to tak wyraźnie Aż zapłoną gwiazdy Powiedz, odpuść nam I sobie sam Ten długi ślad Co zostawił tyle ran Powiedz czego nie wiesz..

I was born into a decade the color of avocado walls and sun-warmed vinyl seats. An only child of a mother who still believed in open windows and letting the day decide itself. Before the world grew complicated, there was a young girl who belonged mostly to herself. A latchkey kid with her heart on her sleeve and the whole afternoon spilling open like summer. I made mud pies. Made friends with frogs. I believed in magic but preferred it gentle the kind you discover quietly in clover fields and sidewalk cracks. I was always looking for luck. Four-leaf clovers pressed between hopeful fingers. Rainbows that felt personal. Shooting stars that seemed to pause just long enough to listen. I had conversations with the moon. I carried small charms in my pockets, but mostly I carried a bright, unexplainable certainty that something wonderful was always about to happen. I was never alone. My imagination walked beside me, a brave companion on pirate ships made of sofas, on ocean voyages across living room floors, through backyard kingdoms where the grass bowed like loyal subjects. I, their queen with a box full of rainbows and dreams. Stuffed animals listened seriously to my plans. My dog followed faithfully, as if she knew the world was safest when seen through my eyes. I loved everything that moved... records spinning, cartoons flickering blue at dusk, my hula hoop circling my waist like I had discovered how planets circle the sun. I rode my bike until the streetlights hummed on. I ran through sprinklers as if baptized by suburbia. Summers tasted like chlorine and popsicles and forever. I learned to read from rhymes that bent the rules, certain that words were worlds alive and waiting for me. So I wrote poems before I understood what I could communicate through poetry. Growing up in the seventies wasn’t just wood panel walls, shag carpet and soft rock drifting from radios. It was freedom. It was grass on my knees and hope in my pockets. It was believing the universe left clues just for me. And in that wide, sunlit world a little girl with wind in her hair and luck in her hands moved through her days certain... that life was something to love. ~SRC "Growing Up Seventies" Available via @objktcom
