If Republicans lose the House and Senate in November, this country does not get a mulligan. It gets a wrecking crew with no remaining institutional brakes.
The Democratic Party is not “the other team.” Large parts of it have spent years openly discussing court-packing, ending the legislative filibuster, treating the First and Second Amendments as optional, and treating election rules as something you rewrite after you lose.
That is not a secret conspiracy theory. It is in their speeches, their platforms, and their legislative drafts. Pretending otherwise is how you sleepwalk into a constitutional crisis. Worse, some high-follower “conservatives” have decided the sophisticated move is to tell people to stay home. “What if we all just don’t vote and that somehow forces change?” That is not strategy. That is LARPing.
Power does not care about your protest abstinence. Power fills the vacuum. If the people who actually show up are the ones who want to rewrite the rules, they will rewrite the rules.
Sitting this out does not punish the GOP. It does not send a message. It hands the other side unified government and then acts shocked when they use it.
VOTE! Get the people around you to vote. Treat November like it matters, because the people on the other side already are.
