Support continues for communities affected by the 24 June earthquakes in Venezuela. Through its latest distribution in Las Salinas, the Venezuelan Red Cross @CruzRojaVe reached more than 900 families with hygiene kits and essential supplies, bringing the total number of families assisted to 4,000. A powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Flores Island, Indonesia, on 15 August, impacting communities across seven districts in East Nusa Tenggara. Reports indicate damage to homes, public buildings and health facilities, as well as disruptions to electricity, telecommunications and road access. Around 2,000 people have moved to temporary shelters while assessments continue to determine the full scale of humanitarian needs. The Indonesian Red Cross @palangmerah is mobilizing rapid assessment teams, relief supplies and emergency response capacity to support those affected. The @IFRC is supporting PMI with coordination, assessments, information management and technical expertise as the response evolves.

Search and rescue operations continue in western Colombia following a powerful 7.4 magnitude earthquake. @cruzrojacol teams are on the ground, with 30 search and rescue responders deployed to Chocó. Damaged roads, bridges and airport closures are making access challenging, while aftershocks continue. The @IFRC is preparing support through our Disaster Response Emergency Fund (@IFRC_DREF) and has activated its readiness plan for large-scale emergencies. Saving lives remains the priority. The Red Cross response is ongoing.
