The next British #Ambassador to #Iceland had just been announced. Congratulations to Jane Stevens on being appointed to one of the best jobs in the world! gov.uk/government/news/chang….

Important statement which has Iceland’s full support. The principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity are fundamental. We stand in full solidarity with the Kingdom of Denmark and people of Greenland.

Our position on Greenland is very clear – it is part of the Kingdom of Denmark and its future is a matter for the Greenlanders and the Danes. We have also made clear that Arctic Security matters for the whole of NATO and allies should all do more together to address the threat from Russia across different parts of the Arctic. Applying tariffs on allies for pursuing the collective security of NATO allies is completely wrong. We will of course be pursuing this directly with the US administration.

We’ve had some extraordinary weather and stunning #aurora in #Reykjavik #Iceland this week

Black History Month is an important moment to honour the legacy, innovation and resilience of black communities. It is a time to remember that diversity is our strength and teach children that everyone is equal. #BHM2025 #PowerAndPride

Congratulations to @YvetteCooperMP on her appointment as UK Foreign Secretary. Looking forward to continued close cooperation between our two island nations 🇮🇸🇬🇧 I sincerely thank @DavidLammy for his friendship & cooperation & wish him every success in his new duties.

Important call with @Vernon_Coaker on 🇮🇸 🇬🇧 security and defence, pleased to hear about the UK gov strategic review, looking forward to strengthening our cooperation further.

We are working closer than ever with our NATO allies in the Arctic to keep the British public safe.

RAF jets protect the skies from this NATO base in Iceland. Our new project to use AI to monitor hostile activity will make this region & NATO’s northern flank even more secure. Great to be working with @thorgkatrin to deliver this alongside our work on Arctic science.

THIS just happened.👇   Wishing @RememberMonday_ the very best of luck in the @Eurovision Final in Basel this evening! 🎶 Band of the Irish Guards #Eurovision2025

Brilliant to see this project come to life! Together with @InspiringTF @Haskoli_Islands, Ragna Skinner and Sinead McCarron and the Icelandic government, we filled with Reykjavik with images of what children want to be when they grow up.

One of my very favourite things to do is speak to children about what they could do when they grow up. Absolutely loved speaking to this amazing group of young people from @morelandprimary yesterday, they have very bright futures ahead!

We must meet this moment together. To guarantee the best outcome for Ukraine. To protect European security. And to secure our collective future.

The summit in London was dedicated to Ukraine and our shared European future. We feel strong support for Ukraine, for our people – both soldiers and civilians, and our independence. Together, we are working in Europe to establish a solid foundation for cooperation with the United States in pursuit of true peace and guaranteed security. Europe’s unity is at an exceptionally high level, one that has not been seen in a long time. We are discussing with our partners security guarantees and the conditions for a just peace for Ukraine. A series of important meetings and decisions are being prepared for the near future. I am grateful to all our friends and partners for their efforts in bringing about a stable and guaranteed peace in Ukraine. Joint strength can protect our future.

We are at a crossroads in history. It is time to act.

My support for Ukraine is unwavering. The UK stands with you, @ZelenskyyUa.

Iceland’s Foreign Minister @thorgkatrin thanks #Finnish Air Force for their #NATO air policing mission in #Iceland. #Finland says they’ve never seen such fantastic host country support. @NATO @LaamanenAnu @FCDOLauraDavies
