Would you do same for a friend?
Thoughts?
In November 2010, U.S. Marine Corporal William "Kyle" Carpenter and his best friend, Lance Corporal Nicholas Eufrazio, were manning a rooftop post in Marjah, Afghanistan, under heavy Taliban attack.
A grenade landed in their sandbagged position. Without a second thought, Kyle threw himself on it, shielding Eufrazio from the blast. The explosion shattered his jaw, destroyed his right eye, broke his arm in 30 places, and left him with shrapnel wounds and a collapsed lung.
Declared dead on arrival at a field hospital, Kyle was miraculously revived. After 40 surgeries and years of grueling recovery, he ran marathons, skydived, and earned the Medal of Honor in 2014 for his selfless act of courage.
