Good morning, Patriots. Careful reading is important. Streams came up from the earth, not rains from the heavens.
Before humans, it appears to me that God chose a different mechanism, ground-fed moisture-to bring forth initial life.
The word translated as "mist" or "spring" comes from a root that can mean a rising vapor, fog, dew, or subterranean upwelling. The earth must have been very humid.
To me, I read this as in the beginning God was the only sustainer of life as he prepared an Eden for us... the mists of the earth fed life, not rain from the heavens.
I could be very wrong, but read for yourself and listen to the words as they mark your heart. Trust the Holy Spirit to talk with you.
Genesis 2:6
"But streams [or a mist] came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground."
This time, I think the angels broke a mold on a stormy sunrise. Cell.
