‼️ Heartbreaking video from Nepal. Villages overrun by raging flood. Hundreds of people are missing. The cause: Likely due to a Glacier Lake or dam in the mountain’s above bursting free from a snow-rock landslide, with water cascading down the hills. It took place on the Nepal-China border - that was initiated by a 4.4 Earthquake. That’s where the evidence points now, and if so, it’s called a Glacier Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF). A drone could stop aerial firefighting on a new wildfire near Cañon City. The fire south of Dawson Ranch has grown to about 1 acre. Fire officials say there are reports of possible drones near the fire. If confirmed, all aerial firefighting would be immediately stopped.

Colorado’s first high-elevation aspens could begin changing around Sept. 10. The high country around Steamboat should show color first, while southern mountain color may continue into early October. These are broad viewing windows, not single peak dates.

Two to three inches of rain shut down every trail at Castlewood Canyon State Park. The intense rain Saturday near Franktown washed out portions of South Castlewood Canyon Road and damaged trails and bridges. Every trail is closed Sunday.
