Shitcoiner hunting season is open

Imagine someone gives you a lock and tells you it's the safest lock in the world. You ask how they designed it. They say, "We picked some special numbers. Trust us." Now imagine that someone is the NSA. That's essentially what happened with some of the elliptic curves standardized by NIST. These mathematical curves are used to secure digital communications, and some contained mysterious numbers whose origins nobody could explain. For decades, cryptographers wondered whether those numbers had been deliberately chosen to hide a secret weakness. Then Claude investigated and found something remarkable: the mysterious seeds apparently came from an ordinary 1990s random-number generator initialized using a computer's clock. No evidence of a secret mathematical trap. Just surprisingly mundane mathematics. Now here's where Bitcoin gets interesting. Out of paranoia, Satoshi chose a different, not widely used curve, secp256k1, with an extraordinarily simple equation: y² = x³ + 7 No mysterious seed needed to explain its shape, just a 7. We don't know whether that motivated Satoshi's choice, but it illustrates something fundamental about Bitcoin. Security shouldn't depend on trusting the people who designed the system. Even if the NSA never intended anything malicious, asking where those numbers came from was absolutely the right question. Because the goal of cryptography isn't to prove that everyone is trustworthy. It's to build systems where they don't have to be. Don't trust. Verify.

Every so often a tweet comes from bitcoin twitter that makes me feel like a complete moron. This is definitely one of those.

Everything we produce should always be getting cheaper if there is any progress in our technology, capital, or skill and understanding. The only reason it doesn’t is because you were robbed for the amount of improvement, plus a few additional percent, so the govt can pretend everything it does is free and pay for illegal immigrants, massive corporate subsidies, influence elections around the world, engage in mass murder, and grape and traffic children of course. Every single time you think gas, or groceries, or the home you wanted to buy keep getting more and more expensive… just think of all the govt corruption, corporate BS, and political grifting you’re supporting and it’ll make it all better. 😁

It's been 13 days since the hardfork, and today, Blake2b coin, aka BTCB2 aka XBT is trading for $130 USD, or 0.0018 BTC. This is substantially worse than Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, or Bitcoin Satoshi Vision on their equivalent T+13 days. Markets get less gullible over time.

The fork’s fatal flaw as I see it: It’s premature. An objective, unbiased participant has no choice but to conclude Legacy Bitcoin is the “real” bitcoin. The alternative is to trust third parties claiming it’s a chain with less PoW and different algo. Arb data chain is destined to fail, but not, necessarily, any time soon. Even in the event of my worst fear (CSAM Flood Attack), a portion of the network could do the exact same thing that’s being done, except with longer chain, more PoW and likely majority. Knots building network share, while developing a mechanism to fork in case of emergency, would've been so much more effective than abandoning the field. Am I wrong?

My stance on the HF Blake coin: I'm keeping both tokens for now, and I'm not making any txs until I understand how to replay-protect them to one chain or the other. Currently I believe the 3 chains are fucked. It's been shown that the big Sv1 pools can set the consensus rules of Poolcoin, BIP-110coin is very unlikely to ever overtake Poolcoin even though @Roughnecks110 is still keeping this possibility open for now, and Blake coin has the well-known problems of every shitcoin under the Sun. I'll be mostly using my time to raise awareness about the MASFs that Bitcoin is now openly vulnerable to while trying to not be a downer to the people who think Blakecoin is worthwhile, but I don't think it is.

^ I stored this screenshot in my meme folder because it has some modicum of historical value, don't you agree? It proves several facts: 1. That BIP-110 opponents took it seriously and were afraid it would be adopted. 2. That Bitcoin mining is too centralized to the point that random nobodies can pressure the supermajority of the hashrate via Sv1 pool operators. Nevermind nation states! 3. That the BIP-148 UASF of 2017 was a psyop, UASFs/URSFs don't work and the "Independence Day" celebration of August 1st is a LARP. Sad, but at the same time it's good to see a lie through and stop believing in it.

Y'all are cheering for a centralized bitcoin owned by a few corporate entities and shadowy government figures: the exact opposite of what bitcoin was intended to be. Why are you here for it at all? And how long do think it will continue on in this state until the market realizes it's a shittier version of etherium? BIP-110 was early in calling this out (though not early enough). You think the 20% of the network willing to put everything on the line for bitcoin according to Satoshi's principles are going to just give up? I don't know exactly what comes next, but we're not quite through yet. In the mean time, we were the node runners saving you from total institutional capture. Good luck with whatever comes next on the main chain cause you're gonna need it. By the way, I didn't see the price spike on the failure, did you? Interesting... Probably nothing.

Bitcoiners are about to show the world, once again, what happens when the plebs stand up against large, corrupt institutions who are telling us Bitcoin isn't money and our nodes belong to them, to store as much of the most toxic garbage on as they want.

BIP-110 SOON to be activated! 🧵 1/6 Taproot was meant to enhance privacy and smart contracts, but removing script size limits created a fatal loophole: OP_FALSE OP_IF. Exploited by Ordinals, it turned Bitcoin into an arbitrary data dump, leaving nodes with low Taproot adoption and high spam bloat. 2/6 BIP-110 is the ultimate UASF response. By enforcing an absolute “256-byte limit per Witness element & 83 byte OP_Return” at the consensus level, it closes this loophole. UASF nodes will instantly reject non-compliant blocks. Spam heavyweights can no longer use out-of-band contracts with miners and must chunk data into thousands of tiny transactions, destroying their economic viability via fee overhead. 3/6 This is where anti-spam mining pools like OCEAN & DATUM act as the catalyst. By mining only BIP-110 compliant "clean blocks," they CAN trigger an immediate chain split, backing legacy miners into a corner. 4/6 The core conflict for exchanges isn't just branding — it’s severe Counterparty & Settlement Risk. If legacy miners dump their spam-filled legacy BTC for fiat/stablecoins and then suddenly pivot hashpower to the UASF chain, exchanges face massive balance sheet holes and re-org risks. 5/6 To protect themselves, exchanges will take the ultimate defensive maneuver: “halt BTC deposits or require hundreds of confirmations.” And this instantly triggers a liquidity squeeze on the miners. 6/6 Miners have real-world fiat obligations — electricity, hardware loans, facility rents. With exchange deposit chokeholds blocking their cash-out path, legacy BTC becomes illiquid paper. To survive the cash flow crisis, miners will have no choice but to surrender their hashpower to the UASF chain. Game over. That’s why Ordinals and Ordinals-affiliated @saylor seems to be DESPERATE right now. #BIP-110

If miners don't want to make themselvesthe target of government coercion, they will signal for BIP110. A failure to accept a UASF with 20% of nodes signaling and no protocol level counter signal will show that it is miners, not node runners, who control Bitcoin. Once governments see this they will start to pressure miners to do their bidding regarding Bitcoin protocol changes. Deferring to the node runners offers a layer of protection they won't have when the people with a monopoly on violence gets it in their heads that pressure on the miners will give them the changes they want.

Enjoy your block, and your upgrade, BIP110 is the semi, and it doesnt have brakes on it, keep standing right there.
I find this very admirable. We as a community need to give credit where credit is due. GJ to the BIP-110 team.
