Saw the (extremely flawed) survey. Overhearing an off-color joke is not sexual assault.
A state-mandated survey of undergraduate students at Cornell revealed that more than one-third of undergraduate women said they had experienced sexual assault during their time at the Ivy League university. abcnews.link/9AWuad7
Community note
The Cornell 2025 SARM survey had a 15% response rate (14.8% among undergraduate women respondents) and Cornell states this limits the reliability of estimates of nonconsensual sexual contact. statements.cornell.edu/2025/20251104-… news.cornell.edu/stories/2025/1… bpb-us-e1.wpmucdn.com/blogs.cornell.…

I'm in a pissed off mood. The more that I fight to wake people up, the more that I feel that we are being drowned by a tsunami of parasitic thinking and associated suicidal empathy.

🧵UChicago is leading the way on AI in higher education. 1. All students will take an analog writing class. 2. Core classes in the humanities and social sciences will prohibit technology in class. 3. A new requirement in computational thinking will likely be added to the core.

They raped her for hours and not a single one of them was expelled from @Cornell despite the school fully being aware of what took place. Their only punishment was to write an essay. That girl had her life destroyed by these men and this was the “justice” she received. None of them were charged or convicted.
The Cornell 7: Matthew Ingalls Johnathan Newell Winston Lee Gillio Lopes Diego Sarabia Scott Norris Scott Kretzschmar All 7 Chi Phi members are named as defendants in a civil lawsuit alleging they drugged a Cornell student with ketamine and sexually assaulted her for HOURS in 2024. The suit says a message advertising “free p***y” was sent to the frat group chat while she was incapacitated. And "men" showed up to take him up on his offer. And Cornell’s response? The lawsuit alleges some were given the opportunity to MITIGATE THEIR CONDUCT BY WRITING ESSAYS. She left Cornell. 5 of them were ALLOWED TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION AT CORNELL. Remember their names and faces.

How about we reform them all?
In today's @AcademicRenewal article, my colleague @FrankelGarion writes that "Conservatives need to break up with the Ivies and start reforming the colleges most Americans actually attend." Spoiler alert: Most students attend state universities. jamesgmartin.center/2026/09/…

Well would you look at that. Standardized tests are not pointless ⬇️
Replying to @PrestonCooper93
The relationship is one of the clearest I've ever seen. Colleges where entering classes have higher SAT/ACT scores have higher completion rates.

DOJ has found that UC San Francisco Med School discriminates in admissions. In 2025, “the admissions rate for black applicants was 7% and 4.8% for Hispanic applicants compared to 1.7% for white applicants and 2% for Asian applicants.” Mean scores of admitted students by race:
UCSF Med School is 4.6x more likely to admit Hispanic applicants & 12.6x more likely to admit black applicants, than white applicants w/ the SAME academic & socioeconomic backgrounds. Race has no place in admissions & @CivilRights Division will end these illegal practices! justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-d…

I don't think people appreciate just how many DEI-excluded young men will flock to this. They'll be awash with 1550+ SAT / AP class supercharged applicants who Ivy+ institutions purposefully exclude because of their lack of the right fashionable intersectional merit badges. The hiring pipeline out of this will be wild.
Today, we’re launching an ambitious new school called The Horowitz Andreessen Academy. Based in San Francisco, The Academy serves the most promising young high school graduates. We think this can be an elite institution that attracts top tier talent. One that prepares students for the future rather than remaining stuck in the past. The #1 goal is to help students learn to build, which is the most important skill in the AI era. They'll learn primarily by pursuing their own projects, either individually or in groups. There are classes and guest lectures, too, from some truly amazing people who have built modern-day Silicon Valley. The Academy is designed as a network, since that’s the reason students go to school in the first place. Core to that network are our 10 Founding Partners: Anduril, Anthropic, Coinbase, Google, Meta, NVIDIA, OpenAI, Palantir, Replit, and Stripe. The network includes over 50 hiring partners and over 200 speakers and mentors. To join as a hiring partner or faculty member, you can apply on our website. We raised $42M in funding led by @a16z. I'll be CEO and @pmarca and @eriktorenberg will join me on the board. Applications are open for our Founding Class Fellowship, which will be one year and tuition-free. Eventually, pending regulatory approval, we plan to offer a two-year program that charges tuition, similar in cost to an elite private university. We're looking for the most unusually ambitious young builders on the planet. Come join us in San Francisco: theacademysf.com/

Claudine Gay is teaching a course on the purpose and politics of higher ed this semester: “Readings include a former president’s lecture about gender at Harvard, as well as the school’s own reports on its legacy of slavery and the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s connections to the university.” “Also included is an address Gay delivered last year about how donors’ push for power was threatening university independence.” “For the final, students will ‘propose a vision for institutional reform or reinvention.’” I’d love to see what they come up with.

And he’s speaking at Cornell this month!
Now that he won’t stop talking, the folks who told us Hasan Piker is a serious voice who should be listened to ought to let us know which of these positions we’re supposed to take seriously: 1. That “pound for pound,” America is worse than al-Qaeda - a ridiculous statement on a normal day, but particularly vile the same week we’re reflecting on the loss of 3,000 Americans on the 25th anniversary of 9/11. 2. That Communist China’s repressive regime is the “model” for America. 3. That Mao was “a great man of history” while the collapse of the Soviet Union was "one of the greatest catastrophes of the 20th century." The great thing about America is that everyone is entitled to their opinions and free to express them, however dumb or immoral. That includes ‘Comrade’ Piker. The rest of us are just as free - obligated even - to call out this vile, hateful speech that only divides America. axios.com/2026/09/17/hasan-p…
