Approval was withheld for 71 minutes by the House Sergeant at Arms, who reported directly to Speaker Pelosi. She caused critical delays, and now is shifting blame to @realDonaldTrump for failures she helped create. The record is clear.

In 2001, I was a @DCPoliceDept lieutenant in Special Operations, overseeing security planning for major events and dignitary details across DC. That spring, I had the honor of presenting President Bush with a police badge for his inauguration. Five months later, on 9/11, I was summoned to an emergency meeting at the White House, running onto the grounds as they were being evacuated. Days later, I handled security for President Bush’s motorcade to the Pentagon, alongside Condoleezza Rice and Donald Rumsfeld, to observe recovery efforts and support first responders. We must always remember those who lost their lives that day protecting our freedom, and those who have continued to pay the price with their health and their lives. “It is not how these officers died that made them heroes, it is how they lived.” —Vivian Eney, survivor Those words, inscribed on the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C., have profoundly influenced me. Today, we remember Vivian’s husband, Sgt. Christopher Eney: a military veteran and United States Capitol Police sergeant who gave his life in the line of duty on August 24, 1984. His service, sacrifice, and legacy will not be forgotten. We honor fallen officers not only by remembering how they died, but by recognizing how they lived, in service to their families, colleagues, and communities. Stay safe out there.

There is a very troubling fact contained in the recently issued FBI Uniform Crime Report for 2025. While nearly every major crime category fell dramatically in 2025, assaults on law enforcement officers rose sharply! The number of officers assaulted in 2025 was 90,178, an increase of 5.2% over the 85,730 assault figure for 2024. According to the FBI, "2025 recorded the highest assault rate in at least a decade," and it is likely the highest number ever recorded. It also represents a 61% increase over the officer assault figure for 2019 (58,170), the year before the "defund the police" movement started. According to the National FOP, 198 officers have been shot already this year--17 of them fatally--an average of nearly one per day. While applauding law enforcement's crackdown on crime, we should never take their sacrifices for granted!

Refunding and respecting the police is working! The annual FBI Uniform Crime Report shows that we experienced the single biggest reduction in crime in American history in 2025. The murder rate was down 18.1% and reached a 20-year low. Motor vehicle thefts dropped 22.7%, robberies were down 18.5%, burglaries decreased by 15.8%, rapes dropped 7.6% and aggravated assaults were down 7.2%. Tougher prosecution of criminals is one of the reasons for the drop. In D.C., for example, they had a 67% increase in the number of criminal cases charged year-over-year, and the homicide rate was down 45%, with carjackings spiraling downward at 64%. Common sense has returned: refunding police, tougher criminal justice, smarter police strategies and technology, and fewer criminal illegal migrants on the street are working!

Defacing this sacred memorial is disgraceful. It dishonors and disrespects the Greatest Generation and the 400,000+ Americans who gave their lives. Throw the book at them! I had the honor of developing the City’s security plan for the 2004 WWII Memorial dedication. I’ll never forget how gracious the veterans were. Great question: why did they never ask the Chief of Capitol police to testify? Because they did not want the truth to get in the way of the false narrative they were creating to cover up their crimes & target decent Americans as a warning to all: go along with the lies or we are coming for you.

July 4, 2022- Honored to be asked to drive the vintage DC Police cruiser in the Independence Day Parade! This year’s parade was cancelled due to the extreme heat. Was the right call with all of the kids and the marchers in uniform!

Let’s see if he is treated like any other 86-YOA hit and run driver.
