On September 20, ICE officers attempted a stop of a vehicle registered to a known criminal illegal alien with multiple alcohol related driving offenses who is also wanted in Guatemala for a drunk and disorderly charge, during a targeted enforcement operation in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As officers attempted the stop to confirm the identity of the driver, the driver of the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. In the interest of public safety, ICE officers immediately discontinued the enforcement action. A short time later, officers saw smoke nearly half a mile from the attempted stop and discovered the vehicle had crashed into a tree and caught fire. Officers immediately attempted to render aid and extinguish the fire until the Grand Rapids Police Department and Fire Department arrived. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by local officials. Officials also estimated that the suspect’s vehicle was traveling well over 100 miles per hour when the crash occurred.   Upon further investigation the driver of the vehicle was Mario David Coronado-Juarez and not the vehicle’s registered owner. Coronado-Juarez was an illegal alien from Guatemala who was previously removed by Border Patrol from the United States in 2021. He re-entered the country, a felony, at an unknown date and location.   Resisting officers and evading arrest is dangerous for our officers, illegal aliens, and the public.

Serious question. I see where Kamala Harris is polling very high in another run for the presidency in 2028. Here are my feelings. I felt that Kamala Harris was the most qualified person for the presidency. She was much more qualified than Trump. She told us in the debate and at her rallies what Trump's playbook was gonna look like. She was correct about it all. I voted for her. In fact, I really felt that she was cheated out of winning this election. I also feel that Robert Muller (FBI Director) stole an election from Hillary Clinton. With that being said, she's a woman, a black woman. Apparently there are factions of people, men and women, Black, White and Hispanic, who won't vote for a woman to be the president. For whatever reason. Which is crazy. There are over 20 countries with women as their leader/president. America is truly behind the times. I was very disappointed at the Kamala Harris loss. The question is, could I get behind her again? My answer is, yes. If she's our candidate, I could get behind her again. It's not like we weren't seeing the positive energy and intelligence she displayed. Now, I'll ask you. Is there a better candidate? Can she beat, J.D. Vance or Marco Rubio? Would you vote for her again, or should we just move on?

An Iranian-American student stood in front of Abdul El-Sayed and told him about the persecution his own family suffered at the hands of the Iranian regime and the IRGC. He wasn’t asking for a speech. He wasn’t asking for a lecture about U.S. foreign policy. He was asking one simple question: DO YOU STAND AGAINST THE IRGC AND THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN? And what did El-Sayed do? WORD SALAD. Instead of directly condemning the IRGC, he launched into a lecture about regime change and America’s role in the world. The student finally broke through the political talking points: “YOU STILL HAVEN’T SAID IT. WE’RE DYING.” Think about that. A young Iranian-American is standing there telling you his community is suffering, asking you to condemn the organization responsible for brutal repression and he walks away looking emotionally drained and helpless because the candidate STILL couldn’t give him the simple answer he was asking for. And this isn’t just some abstract foreign-policy debate. The IRGC is the military force of the Islamic Republic that has been responsible for violent repression of Iranians. Iran has also pursued a nuclear program that the United States and Israel have repeatedly targeted because of concerns about its potential to produce nuclear weapons. The Trump administration says its 2026 military operation was intended to eliminate Iran’s nuclear and missile threats outside assessments have differed over how completely those capabilities were destroyed. So when an Iranian-American student looks you in the eye and says “WE’RE DYING,” Americans have every right to expect more than evasive political talking points. And yes, his response sounded like the same kind of endless political word salad we heard from Kamala Harris, lots of words, carefully chosen phrases, and somehow no clear answer to the question actually being asked. This is what voters need to see. Watch the video. Listen to the student. Listen to El-Sayed’s answer. Then decide for yourself what it tells you about his priorities and his judgment on this issue. Michigan deserves a senator who will speak clearly when Americans and Iranian-Americans are asking for solidarity against a brutal regime. Mike Rogers deserves to win the senate election!
