The legal talent that has been built up in Missouri under the successive Attorneys General @HawleyMO, @Eric_Schmitt, @AndrewBaileyMO, and @AGCHanaway is unbelievable. And the Missouri miracle is still churning out excellent. Amazing stuff
Covering DOJ & judicial nominations in the second Trump term, I noticed a pattern: big representation from Missouri and, more specifically, the Missouri Attorney General's Office. My new feature looks at how the "show me state" has become a pipeline to federal roles. Link below

Big win for Missourians: the 8th Circuit upheld the constitutionality of Missouri's Sex Offender Registry Act and affirmed that it is essential to protecting our communities. Our office will never waver in defending laws that help law enforcement and parents keep our kids safe.

This is the SG team’s next investigation. We will hold big tech companies accountable when they endanger children.
BREAKING: Our office has launched an investigation into TikTok because parents deserve to know what their kids are being exposed to and how these platforms may be putting them at risk. We won’t tolerate companies that profit from addictive design at the expense of kids’ mental health. We will never stop fighting to protect young consumers online.

Xbox needs to up its game.
Xbox Live has become a hunting ground for child predators in Missouri and beyond. We are demanding that, within 30 days, Xbox institute stronger protections for minors, clearer tools for parents to protect their kids, and accountability measures when predators are reported.

Pleased to have delivered this win for Missouri. Arguably a 6-3 circuit split on this PLRA interpretation issue now.
Prisoners are allowed to file three frivolous lawsuits for free before federal law stops them from filing more. This prisoner had filed his three, and appeals the denial of this fourth suit. The Prison Litigation Reform Act means what it says, Judge Grasz writes. Affirmed.

I’m pleased that the Eastern District of Missouri rejected the motion to dismiss Missouri’s challenge to President Biden’s third mass student-loan cancellation program. We need to permanently close the door on that unlawful program. Only Congress can cancel student loans.

It really is magnificent, as is the “old Cathedral.”
The Cathedral Basilica (new Cathedral) in St. Louis is amazing. Top 5 church in the country for art & architecture.

The SG team’s next investigation. We will never stop fighting for election integrity—and that includes making sure fraudulent money is not being dumped into our electoral system.
BREAKING: We are launching an investigation into ActBlue’s donation verification process and suspected fraudulent contributions. Missourians deserve confidence that political donations are legitimate and not from foreign sources.

My team is proud to be leading this investigation into fundraising for radical Islamic terrorism within Missouri. Even when we have to stay up all night to file at SCOTUS, we will never stop fighting for @AGCHanaway and Missourians.
Missouri will not be a cash conduit for terrorists in the Middle East.  Our office has launched an investigation into Students for Justice in Palestine’s fundraising and charitable-solicitation activities following reports of misleading claims and alleged links to groups whose resources may reach radical Islamist terrorists.

Proud to have the SG team leading this investigation. We will continue fighting to make the downtowns of our great cities orderly and safe. @AGCHanaway is just getting started on this.
After months of repeated violence and persistent nuisance conditions around Reign Bar in Downtown Columbia, our office is demanding immediate corrective action. Columbia residents, students, and business owners deserve to live, study, and work in a safe environment. We will continue our efforts to improve public safety across the state.

More to come on this.
Illegal immigrants should not be represented in Congress. In a win for Missourians, the federal government has agreed that counting noncitizens in the Census would compromise representation, and has issued a proposed regulation that forbids including illegal immigrants in the 2030 Census and 2031 congressional apportionment. Our office has moved to dismiss our litigation in light of this development. We are glad the Trump Administration is taking action and we will continue fighting to ensure citizens’ voices are never diluted in favor of illegal immigrants.

No real mystery here… the Trump Administration put out a proposed rule agreeing with our position (and even citing our complaint).
#UPDATE: Missouri AG Hanaway has dropped her lawsuit seeking to exclude undocumented immigrants from the 2030 Census and to redo the 2020 Census and 2021 apportionment.

Sports betting is legal in Missouri, but you have to pay taxes and abide by age restrictions. We will strictly enforce the law—including against prediction markets.
Companies cannot repackage sports bets as ‘event contracts’ to evade Missouri law.   Polymarket, Kalshi, Novig, Crypto.com, Underdog, and Robinhood are not licensed to offer sports wagering in Missouri. Until they are licensed by the Missouri Gaming Commission, we are demanding they cease and desist from offering sports contracts to Missourians.    Voters chose a safe, well‑regulated market that supports public education and addresses problem gambling, and we will enforce it.

Big win today alongside @HarmeetKDhillon and @JesusOseteDOJ in federal court. You can’t reserve board spots for particular racial groups. Easy rule for everyone to follow, including MSHSAA.
Today the Eastern District Court of Missouri rejected MSHSAA’s motion to dismiss our lawsuit holding them accountable for race- and sex-based discrimination. Our claims will proceed, and we are grateful @AAGDhillon can continue representing Americans in this fight for equal treatment under the law.

Proud to have successfully defended Missouri’s S.B. 751 from en banc review at the Eighth Circuit. @AGCHanaway and I will continue fighting for affordable prescription drugs and the fulfillment of the federal 340b program.
Can Missouri pass a law that affects price and distribution of certain federally discounted drugs? Yes, and the full Eighth Circuit will not review. Judges Kobes (Trump I), Traynor, and Smith (Trump II *2) dissent. They would harmonize the discordant case law. Fascinating!

Proud to have overseen this with @JaneDueker and my team on behalf of @AGCHanaway. St Louis is a great city; we can’t have drug dens in the downtown. Residents were caught in the middle, but we secured financial restitution and relocation funds from the owner. More to come here.
All 168 residents of the former Mark Twain Hotel in downtown St. Louis have officially been relocated, with the very last resident moving into their new home just hours ago. @KMOV

This is the game-plan for the Missouri SG Office too. Lots of new lawsuits and investigations coming out soon (new Second Amendment lawsuit filed last week).

Highly recommend Arch, the old courthouse (Dred Scott history), the zoo, Forest Park, the botanical gardens, and a Cardinals game. For dinner, Italian on The Hill.
Gateway Arch is pretty silly, but still a must-do.
