I’m not an AI-doomer or anti-AI in every application, but it has good uses, bad uses, some uses that come with risks, and some uses that are just plain stupid. And it’s not a left-right political issue.
I absolutely hate that the AI issue has become simplistically partisan and I hate even more than the Right has fallen on the “AI is amazing and everything about it is great and we shouldn’t do a single thing to regulate or control it at all and in fact we love it so much that we’re going to rename it and call it Super Intelligence because that sounds more fun” side of that grossly simplified divide. Not surprised by either of these developments but I hate them nonetheless.
