What a speech from Kemi! 🔥 Scrapping inheritance tax on family homes would make a real difference to families across the country - including here in Beaconsfield, Marlow and the South Bucks villages. Only @KemiBadenoch and the @Conservatives have a plan to get Britain moving and deliver for working families. #CPC26

People are worried whether they’ll have enough money left in their bank account at the end of the month. That’s why the @conservatives are clear we want work to pay. Labour, meanwhile, seems more focused on handing out more welfare.

It was great to speak with @DavidPBMaddox and the @Independent ahead of Conservative Party conference. This week Labour chose to put the safety of women and girls at risk by releasing early from prison domestic abusers, stalkers and violent offenders. No matter how much Labour might want their voices to be silenced, I will always speak for women and girls in our country.
I worked with rape victims in Kosovo — I don’t need a lecture on women’s safety from Labour, says Tory shadow minister Shadow women and equalities secretary @joymorrissey talks to @Independent after Bridget Phillipson accused Tories of "weaponising" violence against women and girls independent.co.uk/news/uk/po…

Where is Bridget Phillipson - Labour’s Women’s Minister? I ask because this week women faced the reality of their domestic abusers, stalkers and violent attackers set free early by Labour. I have been warning about this for months. All we have heard from Bridget is the sound of silence. She has been too busy with her other job - playing politics. Bridget is the Chair of the Labour Party first, Minister for Women and Equalities second. Women and girls in this country deserve someone who puts them first, Labour Party politics second.
Labour’s early release scheme is putting women at risk. I warned the Government time and time again about the risks this scheme posed to victims. Now, victims are fearing for their safety.

Labour, Lib Dems, Greens. They are all on the same ruinous path. All across the left of British politics is an abandonment of rights for women and girls. An imposition of Orwellian and frankly bizarre language. A failure to confront with actions, not words, the crisis of violence against women and girls. Under @KemiBadenoch’s leadership, the @Conservatives are ready to fight this battle for common sense. We know what a woman is. We believe in safe, single sex spaces. We will always put the interests of children ahead of the latest left-wing ideological fad.
Green Party members have been told to replace terms such as “mothers and fathers” with gender-neutral terminology under new guidance on inclusive language ⤵️ telegraph.co.uk/politics/202…

In a shocking new twist it appears Andy Burnham’s numbers driven by 1970’s vibes might not add up.
Andy Burnham is likely to have to raise taxes to pay for his social care plan Here's Paul Johnson, the former head of the IFS: “We shouldn’t think about the triple lock as being related to social care at all. It doesn’t release money, it means we will be spending at bit less than we should have done. "If you’re going to have a new leg of the welfare state in social care then you are either going to have to find some big savings somewhere else or raise taxes. Clearly the triple lock over the next decade is not going to come close to funding a free social care service"

Come on @bphillipsonMP. Let’s move beyond pre-conference puff pieces. You have not met the women of Piddington despite their letters to you and me offering to facilitate a meeting for you. You voted against a proper national inquiry into the grooming gangs in 2025. That’s not “weaponisation”. It’s holding you to account for your record. But I’m willing to move on. So here’s an invitation to you. If you genuinely care about women feeling unsafe, I’ll work with you. Come with me to Piddington and meet the women. Let’s also go meet rape gang victims across the country together and agree a joint response. There is a national crisis of violence against women and girls. It deserves a serious response from politicians to work together. I’m ready if you are.
We should come down like a ton of bricks on those who are violent against women – whatever their background. Yet today, you only ever hear women's safety mentioned by right-wing politicians when they are discussing immigration. It's weaponisation. independent.co.uk/news/uk/po…

The Conservatives under @KemiBadenoch will deliver a country that ends identity politics and keeps women and girls safe. We have much more to do, but as the Lib Dem’s and Labour abandon women and girls to pursue the demands of their left wing activists - the Conservatives are crystal clear that we stand by the rights of women. We will protect the rights of women and girls and deliver a Britain where common sense reigns and merit matters.
The gender split in this poll is striking. Labour have a big 6 point lead among men over Reform. Meanwhile the Conservatives actually lead among women, 2 points ahead of Labour.

Labour forgot about women again. On 10th September Labour published cabinet committees. They claim Violence against Women and Girls is a priority. But forgot to add the Women’s Minister to the Domestic Affairs Committee. Today - nearly 2 weeks later - they’ve hastily added her. It may be that Labour’s Misogyny Talking Shop needs to start a little closer to home. In the Labour Party. Women and Girls - abandoned by the Lib Dem’s. Always an afterthought for Labour.

Ah. I see the problem here. The first line should have said "Piddington is not JUST an immigration issue". Stop getting your knickers in a twist over a typo. If it's not an immigration issue why am I talking about the ECHR and illegal arrivals in the same tweet? 🙄 If you'd actually been to Piddington, you'd know that putting 1300 men in a camp next to a village of 130 women IS also a women's safety issue.
This is, in fact, an immigration issue. Everything else is downstream from that. You lot always want to avoid talking about immigration because of your abysmal record. But avoiding it only causes more anger. Call it what it is, Kemi.

Another Lib Dem MP interviewed about their shameful conference where they abandoned safe, single sex spaces for women and girls. Another Lib Dem MP who finds it impossible to say the word “woman”. What a shower they are.
'Your party has voted to drop rules protecting single-sex spaces?!' 'We're a party that champions the rights of individuals.' @AlexArmstrong challenges Liberal Democrat President Josh Babarinde MP on his party's new policy concerning certain trans rights.

I agree that women and girls should feel safe on the street. The fact is they don’t. But a talking shop to examine “attitudes” to women will make about as little difference to that vital task as giving illegal migrant men a leaflet to ask them not to rape British women and girls. This is just an embarrassing response from a Government that thinks leaflets, meetings and vacuous announcements represent action. Labour has no serious plan for ending the crisis of violence against women and girls.
New National Taskforce for Tackling Misogyny launched by @bphillipsonMP this morning to help ensure women and girls can live safely, freely, and without limits. The taskforce will bring national leaders and local experts together to focus on misogyny across society.

This morning Labour have set up a “taskforce” to look at “attitudes” to tackle misogyny. I often wonder whether Labour politicians have ever grown up from their student politician days. Then other days they happily prove they haven’t. This “taskforce” is Labour setting up a talking shop in the middle of a crisis of violence against women and girls. I asked Labour to agree with me we should deport the illegal migrant men posing a direct risk to the safety of women and girls. Their answer is to look at “attitudes” as if it’s some academic dissertation. This isn’t a serious response to the crisis of violence against women and girls by Labour.

Labour’s Northern Ireland Troubles Bill is wrong. Veterans who served our country and kept us safe should not now find themselves facing vexatious complaints and prosecutions for following lawful orders decades later. The @conservatives will always stand up for those who served and ensure our veterans get the support and protection they deserve.

Labour’s net zero agenda is driving up your bills and your taxes. With taxes at their highest since WWII, families need cheaper energy - not more costs and higher taxes. Only the @Conservatives have a Cheap Power Plan to save £320 billion from energy bills by 2050 - equivalent to £540 per British household per year for two decades.
