#MondayMotivation for those going through #Softball #Recruiting! It's important to stay positive and continue navigating your course.
Not counting JUCOs (and there are a bunch of them) - there are approximately 1,000 #NCAASoftball programs through the three levels.
Keep looking for the right fit! Right academics! Right location! You got this! Things usually work out for everyone involved.
ALSO - IF YOU WANT TO MISS A FALL GAME TO GO TO HOMECOMING THAT SHOULD BE OK! You only get one senior homecoming! Coaches - stop making them choose!

Tuesday #Softball #Recruiting tip is geared towards travel ball coaches and parents. #TravelSoftball is hard, time consuming & expensive! Probably doesn't have to be though. Here are some of my thoughts (again - these are my thoughts & opinions):
1 - During pool play/exposure games, coaches should stay in the dugout! Let the kids play. Coaches evaluate, write notes and teach them the game. You'll see and learn more doing this than telling these kids what to do on every single pitch!
2 - Please let your pitchers/catchers run the bases. Two outs in a timed game, switch them up! But otherwise you're doing them a disservice.
3 - If you do feel the need to put speed in. Your job as a coach is show that off. Putting in a courtesy runner and leaving them at 1B is a waste!
4 - Coach @VictoriaHayward posted great stuff on her social media about profile sheets. Please print on white paper, leave space for notes & provide the contact information!
5 - Cancel one tournament and use that weekend for extra off days, opportunity for players to go to school dances/games/etc. Or use it to practice and coach! Coach things like base running, hitting cuts, covering bunts, pitching seven innings, etc. Bring in another team and play a best of 3 series. Full games!
6 - At tournaments, Coaches should bring the profile sheet, give some feedback and move on to the next coach. I like to watch the game too!

•research the rosters of schools at the next level you’re interested in
•communicate schedules and stats like before
•talk to your counselor about classes transferring
•compete your backside off so the recommendations say you’re ready!

With all of the new rules being passed and uncertainty about some recruiting, I think this is a GREAT time for the junior college ranks.

We can get a student-athlete that might come in to school with an associates degree, a couple hundred at bats or innings pitched and game experience! #JUCOSoftball
If you are a JUCO Bandit your journey is just different. Maybe harder, maybe easier - but it is what you make it.

There are some dang good junior college programs out there that are consistently preparing their players for the next level. And I know coaches at the NAIA/NCAA levels are working hard to build relationships with those programs.
