Tucker Carlson's morning note: "If TIME’s reporting is accurate, then the President of the United States launched one of the most bellicose military invasions in American history on the advice of a chatbot. It is hard to imagine clearer proof that the people running our country are nothing close to the geniuses they want you to think they are. They are faking it as they go. There is no master plan; the White House is not playing 4D chess. Or even checkers."

When Hannah Arendt described Adolf Eichmann as the “banality of evil” she was talking about Russ Vought.
Russ Vought: "We fund what we need to fund. I'm not at all shy about we want to spend billions of dollars on a new shipyard. We're up there defending the $1.5t that the Department of War needs. But it's also coming at a ton of reduction on the non-defense side"

Outsourcing AI regulation to a voluntary "pledge" conceived by Mark Zuckerberg and endorsed by tech CEOs over a private White House lunch is a recipe for disaster. "Self-regulation" by tech giants is a proven failure. The last time Meta promised to police itself, turned out it was hiding evidence that its platforms actively harm kids. Repeating this mistake with AI leaves the public dangerously exposed. AI companies are already bound by existing laws, but the White House has generally stopped enforcing laws against the wealthy and powerful. State AGs should step up, halt lawbreaking, and promote real deterrence, including through holding individual executives accountable. Congress also needs to legislate. We have a long history of regulating risky, transformative industries like banking, pharmaceuticals, and nuclear power. These tools include mandatory testing, truly independent supervision, and break-ups that end conflicts of interest. Ultimately, reckoning with AI will also require reckoning with our broader crisis of governance. All three branches have become severely deformed. Against this backdrop it might be tempting to outsource regulation to these private actors, but it would be a serious mistake. Our public institutions must decide the trajectory of these powerful technologies, not the firms whose breakneck pace and financial conflicts brought us here. Sen. @ElissaSlotkin: The authoritarian playbook is very clear. When you're at risk of losing, you either A, make up a threat that only you can protect people from, or B, find a way for federal law enforcement or the military to seize ballots or voting machines. In Hungary, Orbán used Plan A. In the run up to election day, we need to be alert and ready. If you hear in the next 34 days that there is a new security threat that you've never heard of, that somehow requires federal law enforcement or the military and not local police, an alarm bell should go off in your brain. Do not let him get away with that.

Nick Saban's arrogance after joining us talking heads is starting to bother me, as if he's the voice of all things college football. You quit when you no longer could control everything + out-talent everyone, took your ball and went home.
This morning on ESPN's First Take, Nick Saban argued player and coach pay are "totally different markets." "That's like asking me 'Does a student's scholarship equal the professor's pay?' I mean, how much value does a coach create for a university?" 📺 💰️

Watch Byron Donalds FAIL to answer a Florida A&M student's simple question about why he stripped Trump from his website last week, and why he didn't mention Trump in his primary victory speech either. If you believe Bryon Donalds, he won the primary without saying anything important about what he planned to do for the citizens of Florida, since that's why he changed the website last week. This is what a stone-cold liar looks like. Cool, calm, collected. He's got canned responses that he practiced, and if you look inside all of it, it's total b.s. @ByronDonalds knows that the affordability crisis, Trump's wars, and their shared love for data centers are dragging down his campaign. He just can't admit it publicly. He's gonna lose.

Hello Lord Watson of Palantir. Here are some more "inadmissible facts" you have conveniently ignored. According to NHS England itself, on precisely the figures you quote: “We cannot therefore draw conclusions about cause and effect as other variables have not been controlled for.” NHS England confirmed that these figures do NOT provide causal evidence that your employer's software created the improvements you’re claiming england.nhs.uk/digitaltechno… In July, the statistics regulator warned that NHS England would need to "include clear information about causality" in relation to these figures. Another inadmissible fact osr.statisticsauthority.gov.… When the Health Foundation compared hospitals using Palantir’s discharge tool OPTICA with those that were not, its findings went against your purported figures. They "found no meaningful difference in delayed discharge performance in trusts that have adopted OPTICA compared to those that have not... We found no noticeable improvement in discharge performance among trusts using OPTICA." Worse, they also "found a marked deterioration in performance at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust after the adoption of OPTICA." osr.statisticsauthority.gov.… Days into your new role, and already publishing disinformation.
Later today protesters will demand ‘No Palantir in our NHS’    While they protest, someone, somewhere will get an operation scheduled earlier, a cancer diagnosis quicker, a loved one home from hospital sooner - thanks to the software that those protesters would switch off.   Here is what you won’t hear. Trusts using the software have recorded: • 117,000 additional operations • 14.3 per cent reduction in discharge delays for long stay patients • 5.6 per cent improvement in the number of people receiving a cancer diagnosis within 28 days     As a more articulate person once said: ‘certain facts, although in a sense known to be true, are inadmissible.’

The claimed totals for bottom 50% U.S. household wealth ($317.8B in 1989, $313B in 2026) are incorrect; Federal Reserve data show ~$720B then and ~$4.28T in Q2 2026. fred.stlouisfed.org/series/WFRBLB5… federalreserve.gov/releases/efa/e… federalreserve.gov/releases/z1/da…
