SFMTA doesn’t even express their condolences or empathize with the victims of the stabbing that occurred on the bus.
Is transit more or less safe? Sure. However, these life or near-death type incidents fracture trust and keep people away from using transit.

"Not all San Franciscans are on board with the idea of a city-run electrical grid. During public comment Marie Hurabiell urged city leaders to back off the effort, which she said “will leave San Franciscans holding the bag on massive costs.”"
OK, those costs:
-Purchase: SF offering $3.4B, PG&E asking: $10B
-Separate SF hub from Nor Cal grid: $1B+++
-Modernize: $1B
We're in a deficit so this will all be paid back with interest (rates go up)

The Bay Area is being held hostage by its transit agencies. They want, again, to raise taxes, claiming they need more or they threaten to shut down.
This is a false choice. There is plenty of funding. It gets incinerated by graft and incompetency that the agencies refuse to name and address.
Facing a fiscal cliff, Bay Area transit systems are planning major service cuts. SPUR measured the human toll of the cuts in traffic delays, carbon emissions, and dollars & cents. It’s not a pretty picture—but it's avoidable if we pass props RTM and H. spur.org/bumpertobumper

The San Francisco Chronicle just recommended voting NO on Proposition B, the Charter amendment to create an unfunded city-run bank.
“San Francisco doesn’t need to create complicated new mechanisms and hope they work.”
Mayor Daniel Lurie also told the Chronicle that he opposes Prop B, saying “Creating a new institution, rather than investing those resources directly in housing, small businesses and other critical needs, is irresponsible.”
The Controller puts the cost at $310 million to $460 million. Prop B provides no funding. If the loans fail, the paper wrote, “that risk would ultimately belong to the public.”

$9.2 billion. Let that sync in.
Doesn’t include General Fund contributions, parking and fare revenues.
And SFMTA is asking for more $ in Nov.

$26 million in Prop L funding is being allocated to The Portal project today. The 1.8 mile extension from Caltrain to Salesforce Transit Center is estimated to cost $8.25 billion and be completed in the “2030s.”

Prop G is a Compromise. No, The Park does not go away. It is 100% open for 100% recreational use on weekends. From M-F, The Park is shared with commute by allowing traffic through. The Park remains open over 50% by area allocation despite what some groups claim. @alankennywong

BART squandered federal bailout in covid - they'll do same thing now. They need to fix the system first.

Stealing this from @ThunderParley . Spot on! tearing down parking lots at BART equals more cars on the road. But that’s what they want, because then they use that issue to convince you that if you just pay more taxes that you’ll remove those cars from the road. Circular nonsense. Just vote no on RTM.
