Nobody, except for perhaps the most diehard, braindead Trump supporters, think that the Kennedy Center is being shut down due to an abundance of caution and in line with good governance. Trump is throwing a hissy fit because the courts blocked his insane, vain, pathetic attempt to slap his reviled name on the building. This is a clear cut case of Trump saying "if I can't have it, nobody can." He'd rather deny the American people access to the center entirely than allow his ego to accept defeat. Kennedy's cousin Maria Shriver voiced a similar sentiment, stating that “a sitting president would not let any renovations to a public building go on unless he gets to first put his name in the said building” was a “sad state of affairs.” Ultimately, the American people will win and the Kennedy Center will survive.
