It makes sense that pets can catch COVID from us and we can catch it from them. No reason why not. I do feel sorry for the pets caught up in this unmitigated pandemic.
What i really want to know is why this cat case can get genetic analysis and my chronic infections can't?
Sometimes I wonder if my cases of COVID go on so long because I'm swapping it back and forth with my pets. The dog has had bouts of diarrhea this round. Luna was very picky about her food. No other symptoms seen. Though I don't know why this would only happen to me and not other pet owning households.
This is one more reason I try to stay on antivirals as long as possible- to keep viral load and transmissability low. My pets don't need more COVID exposure.
