Should be said but it goes back to the specificity of understanding the police in the US as a occupying army in black and brown communities. Opposing the police isn't using them for our "ends" or moving digits on a spreadsheet it's articulating a politics of community control
I’d respect Zohran’s association and collaboration with the NYPD a lot more if he actually weaponized them for socialism, against ICE and fascist federal encroachment. Instead he’s just letting Tisch re-run the Adams playbook and it’s not entirely clear why/what the long game is.

Florida has a new law for people who lie to get a rental. Fake pay stubs. Fake bank statements. Fake IDs. Pretending to be someone else. Any of it can get you a felony. That means up to 5 years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
Landlords don’t have to wait for a court case, either. They can give the renter 7 days to move out. There’s no chance to fix it.
A big apartment group pushed for this law. They say Florida had more rental fraud than any other state. Every lawmaker voted yes. It passed 110-0 in the House and 34-0 in the Senate. Governor DeSantis signed it in June.
