Pi Network signs on with Open Standard Pi Network (@PiCoreTeam) has partnered with Open Standard (@openstandard), the company behind the Open USD (OUSD) stablecoin. Pi says it will explore rewards programs for its users, known as Pioneers, and wider use of OUSD across its ecosystem. OUSD went live today on Base, Ethereum, Solana and Tempo. It's issued by Stripe-owned Bridge, with reserves held at BlackRock, Lead Bank, and BNY. Open Standard now counts over 200 partners, who earn rewards based on the OUSD activity they bring in.

Pi Network Advances To Protocol 28 Pi Network (@PiCoreTeam) has upgraded its Testnet to Protocol 28 after completing the Protocol 27 Mainnet upgrade. The new protocol improves how the network handles delays in transaction data. It also lets developers upgrade groups of smart contracts together. Developers can additionally modify stored data more safely as applications evolve. All node operators must upgrade to Protocol 28 by October 13. Pi plans to upgrade the Mainnet to Protocol 28 on October 16.

KYC and Mainnet migration involve many different checks designed to allow genuine Pioneers to progress while preventing bad actors, bots and those with policy violations. While most Pioneers move through these processes continuously, certain groups can become stuck because of specific corner cases that require additional evaluation or custom technical solutions. Pi Network completes last step towards Protocol v27 Launch Pi Network (@PiCoreTeam) is moving to Protocol V27 on its Testnet 2 environment as it works toward a mainnet launch. The new protocol has stabilized at 250 transactions per block with no recorded failures, showing it can handle higher traffic. This is the final technical step before the Pi Network team switches to the live environment.
