Smith asserted he wanted to help solve the disenfranchisement of black Americans that has resulted from blind loyalty to the Democrat Party.
He argued that Democrats don't cater to black Americans because they know they'll automatically get their votes.
Smith said he believes it's necessary for black Americans to have open minds about who to vote for.
Nearly 85% of black voters were Democrats or leaned Democrat as of a 2024 Pew Research Center report.
Trump received 15% of the black vote in 2024 — which was a 7% increase from 2020, according to Pew.
Smith previously called the increase of black men voting for Trump in 2024 a "huge step."
