France Burns as Europe Watches. 🔥
Limoges’ historic town hall set ablaze. Shops looted. Public buildings attacked. Demonstrations over living costs and public services descended into destruction that no grievance can justify.
Some online commentators are calling it the “French intifada.” Whatever the label, burning civic heritage and terrorizing neighborhoods should never become an accepted expression of political frustration.
To me, this reflects a deeper deterioration in Europe: the erosion of respect for the law, shared institutions, and the cultural inheritance each generation is supposed to protect. When leaders tolerate movements that reject those principles, they undermine the very society they are meant to defend.
Sad... If a society refuses to defend its laws, its institutions, and its heritage, what will be left for future generations? How many historic buildings must burn before European leaders stop confusing tolerance with surrender?
How does storming a French town hall help either French students or Palestinians?
When City Hall is stormed, buildings are damaged and Palestinian flags suddenly dominate a protest about France’s own problems, the original cause starts disappearing beneath something else entirely.
At what point does a protest stop being about fixing France and start becoming about who is taking control of the streets?
