Let's put 🇨🇦 polls into perspective...
In 2015, Conservatives lost the election with 32% of the vote.
In 2019, Conservatives lost the election with 34% of the vote.
In 2021, Conservatives lost the election with 34% of the vote.
And, depending on which poll you choose to believe today, Conservatives are sitting somewhere between 34-39% of the vote, and support is falling fast.
After 10 years of the wholesale Liberal/NDP destruction of our country, the "Conservative" party basically hasn't moved the needle.
In other words, after 10 years of carnage, the Canadian population as a whole is just as committed to leftist socialist parties as it was in 2015. Let that sink in...
Actually, it's worse than that. If you transported today's Conservatives back to 2010 during the Harper Era, they would be to the left of the 2010 Liberals. So, to even capture that current 34-39% at the polls, they've shifted themselves far to the left of where they used to be.
The Conservative Party in 2025 is anything but conservative -- on almost every issue that matters (climate change, censorship, war, trade, Covid, economic revival, constitutional reform, mass migration, UN, NATO, WHO, etc, etc.), they've allowed mainstream media and polling to determine their policies and now behave like post-WWII progressives/globalists. Heck, it took Poilievre 9 years to finally find the courage to publicly say he thinks there might only be two genders... such courage... 🤪
So, after 10 years of not moving the needle at the polls, their cowardly quest to chase leftward-drifting votes has pushed the party so far to the left that it is essentially just another leftist party.
To put this into perspective, this means that after 10 years of socialist destruction, Canada's population is MORE, not less committed to socialist ideas. All because our Conservative politicians were too afraid to fight the culture war.
When you look at the 5 parties with seats in Parliament today, when you vote in the next election you basically have 5 choices that lead to the same destination, but you get to choose your preferred speed of travel.
Lessons learned:
Young people -- hope is not a strategy. I pray this country can be turned around, but if you're young and have options, you should probably be exploring options outside of Canada. Choose your education and skills wisely and, if the opportunity arises, get off this sinking ship. You can always come back, but your loyalty at this stage of your life needs to be to your future prospects of being able to raise and provide for a family -- don't gamble on that by betting on hope.
For the rest of Canadian Conservative voters as a whole -- the only thing that can fix Canada is a major cultural shift. But the risk-averse Conservative Party has made it clear that it isn't capable/willing to lead that charge.
So, make it clear to the Conservative Party that if they don't grow a pair, now!, and start breaking the taboos of "consensus globalist opinion", you will either jump ship to another small party (i.e. PPC), start another party, or not vote at all (yes, that is also an option to delegitimize an election if enough people boycott it).
And you have to mean it. The rawest form of politics is this kind of hardball that punishes career politicians and establishment parties by withdrawing your vote, no matter the cost.
The Leftists control the media and the culture. And so, the Conservatives just keep adjusting their platform to the left to chase opinon polls and avoid media scandals. In doing so, they are literally signalling that they are followers, not leaders. A follower inspires no-one because no-one trusts a follower to lead a country out of crisis. And a follower cannot win a culture war.
Until the Conservative Party is made to understand this, they will struggle at the polls.
Ah, but even a lousy Conservative Party is better than another run of the Liberals, right? Let's test that theory -- let's imagine for a moment that the Conservatives win the next election. What changes?
We keep seeing what "Conservative" governance looks like in Europe when Euro Conservatives "win" -- think Mark Rutte, Rishi Sunak, Boris Johnson, Angela Merkel, etc, etc, -- they got elected and promptly carried on destroying their countries with globalism even after getting elected because they didn't have the courage to confront any of the real issues tearing society apart. (I wrote about this in my recent article Why Conservatism Failed to Stop a World Gone Mad - link in the comments below).
Any Conservative party that doesn't attack the core pillars of globalism will achieve nothing even if it is elected. But most conservatives are still "conserving" the post-WWII era, not finding solutions to move past it.
There's another problem. To win the next election, the Conservatives need to win 50% of the vote to form a majority govt. Any less, and they'd just get to be a minority govt -- no problem, right? Wrong.
As we've seen in Germany, it has now become standard practice for leftist parties to create coalitions of "firewalls" to keep conservatives out of power... "to save democracy". What makes you think that won't also happen here?
Even if the Conservatives beat the Liberals, unless they get an outright majority, the Liberals, NDP, Greens, and Bloc could all refuse to support a minority Conservative govt, and then the Governor General would almost certainly allow the Liberals/NDP/Bloc/Greens to form a new leftist govt coalition if they say they are willing to work together. Checkmate.
Consider what it would take for the Conservatives to shift the polls from the current 34-39% to a full 50%. You think Poilievre, the king of slogans, fence sitting, and apple munching, has it in him?
Leaders like Trump, Milei (Argentina), or Bukele (El Salvador) prove that politicians who are willing to take a hard stance against the creeping tide of global socialism actually make inroads. And they trigger a shift in culture because they force "taboo" issues into the public conversation. By breaking those taboos, it gives the broader public the courage to also speak out -- which breaks the illusion of consensus and shatters the groupthink.
There's another myth that needs to be addressed, which claims that if you just get the Conservatives elected, they'll change afterwards. Nonsense. In Canada, the party controls the Prime Minister -- if he veers off-script to take positions that are contrary to what got his MPs elected, they will oust him in an instant via a non-confidence vote to avoid being discarded by their own voters in the next election cycle.
How many MPs would stand by Poilievre after getting elected if he suddenly did a 180-degree U-turn and started confronting the climate hoax, calling out Covid lies, called to exit NATO or the WHO, or proposed a total overhaul of the Seante and the Parliamentary system to turn 🇨🇦 into a constitutional republic? They'd look at the polls, and then oust Poilievre in a non-confidence vote. Don't rock the boat or threaten pensions...
To change course, the Conservative Party has to start challenging the real isues. Now. Before the election. Openly. Break the taboos. Stand firm.
In BC, one MPP of the BC Conservatives recently did just that.
@Dallas_Brodie dared say what everyone can see, that the residential school hysteria has gone completely off the rails and that there were no bodies found in Kamloops.
The BC Conservative Party immediately took the cowardly path and kicked her out of the party. Now it's up to conservative voters to play hardball with the party by supporting her, at any cost, even if it collapses the BC Conservative Party.
Voters in her riding need to show
@Dallas_Brodie that they willl have her back to make it safe for others to also speak courageously and honestly about the issues. So far, two other MPPs (Jordan Kealy and
@TaraArmstrongBC) have also left the party to support her. 🏆🏆🏆It needs to become a flood.
These rebels are the courageous standard-bearers around which to build a new party -- they are signalling that they have the courage to say what needs to be said.
Voters owe it to withdraw their support for the BC Conservative Party and instead throw 100% of their support behind these rebels to help them build momentum for a new party -- the effect on opinion polls might even trigger a crisis in the old party that forces a purge the globalists and their censorious leader (John Rustad) and bring the rebels back in. It's up to conservative voters to make that happen -- support the rebels, and tell the other MPPs in the BC Conservative Party that if they don't stand behind the rebels, they have zero chance of being re-elected.
If you keep rewarding feckless Conservatives by continuing to vote for them, you'll keep getting a feckless Conservative Party.
Reward the rebels, even if they're not perfect, so that momentum can build for anti-globalist politicians and to encourage them to break the 'consensus" taboos that are holding us hostage.
It can happen faster than you think -- can you imagine the crisis in the federal Conservatives if the next poll showed Poilievre collapsing below 15% and the PPC suddenly gaining steam -- reforms would be imminent.
As for
@Dallas_Brodie, Jordan Kealy, and
@TaraArmstrongBC, thank you for your courage 🙏, and l pray you start a new party -- you'll have my vote!
