If Macklemore really wants to show solidarity with Palestinians he should perform at this 22,000 capacity venue in the Palestinian city Rawabi, in the West Bank, which I’ve visited twice (this is my photo). It’s the biggest open air venue of its sort in the Middle East and hosts international acts. And since he’s such a big advocate for gay people he should definitely sing “Same Love”. He could even replicate his 2014 Grammy’s performance when a bunch of same sex couples got married.

NEW: After about 40 minutes, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech at the UN General Assembly has come to a close.
It went just about how many would expect. At the beginning, there was a very large walkout of representatives, leaving a scarcely populated room to listen to Netanyahu’s speech.
This was then followed with your expected Israeli talking points:
- Iran is going to destroy the world
- Israel isn’t committing genocide
- Trump is the bestest
- Iran is just about to topple
- Everyone that criticizes Israel is antisemitic
It really is astonishing to see SUCH a consequential opportunity for Netanyahu to be wasted on propaganda that frankly, nobody in that room believes anymore.
Netanyahu, and the broader Israeli Government, continues to push for the expansion of their borders, the push for war, and the same Cancel Culture antisemitism accusations that are actively counterproductive.
Israel MUST see that the world is horrified by their continued actions. Not just by the catastrophe they have stirred up alongside Trump in the Iran War, but their conduct throughout the entire region.
When Netanyahu had the opportunity to make a HISTORIC shift in rhetoric… truly historic, he decided to double down on the same rhetoric that has made Israel a global pariah.

So this performative nonsense is meant to distract from the fact that hundreds of NYPD vehicles escorted Netanyahu to the UN today, giving him a grander welcome than most, if not all, heads of state. Meanwhile the NYPD was arresting anti-genocide protesters in the streets.
A far cry from campaigning on arresting Netanyahu. Now he won’t arrest him, won’t protest him, and says he doesn’t even encourage New Yorkers to protest.
