Dimitris is also giggling that Carney won't block Chinese Steel from being used on Phase 2 of LNG Canada. These people hate our country and workers. But they love cheerleading Carney.

Six Tim Hortons restaurants in Eastern Ontario have gone bankrupt. According to Blacklockโ€™s, their operators blame changes to the Temporary Foreign Worker Program. If your business depends on cheap labour to survive, you need a different business model.

๐Ÿšจ MASSIVE SHIFT ๐Ÿšจ Bill C-39 isn't just about labour rights. It would allow the government to designate entire regions for accelerated development, then deem every finding needed for project approval to be favourable. This could make preferential treatment for companies benefitting government officials extraordinarily difficult for the public to detect or prove.

PM Carney claimed today that industrial carbon pricing has โ€œzeroโ€ direct or indirect impact on food prices. That is not true. Ottawaโ€™s own modelling estimated millions in carbon-pricing costs for food, beverage manufacturing in 2022, when the carbon tax was $20 per tonne. Now, it's $110 per tonne. Costs do not simply disappear. Source: Canada Gazette.

What did I just watch??? What absolute political fan fiction. Stephen Harper gives a serious speech about investment, energy, sovereignty and getting major projects built, and somehow CTV turns it into a story about Harper undermining Pierre Poilievre. Did they actually listen to Harper? Harper said Canada was poised to become an energy superpower in 2015 and then said we failed to become one because of โ€œdeliberate policy choicesโ€ made over the following decade. He called for removing regulatory burdens, faster permitting and getting resource infrastructure built. That sounds a lot more like an argument about Canadian economic policy than some coded attack on Pierre. And apparently Pierreโ€™s great sin is being โ€œcombativeโ€ and saying things too plainly. Since when did telling people directly what you think become disqualifying? I would rather have a politician say, โ€œI call BS,โ€ and explain why than hide behind polished political language designed to offend nobody and say nothing. Yes, the Conservatives are having a rough stretch in the polls. Angus Reid recently had them at 32%, Abacus at 33%, and Nanos at 30.9%. That is a real political problem and Conservatives should deal with it honestly. But turning Harperโ€™s investment speech into evidence that Pierre is losing control of the party is analysis piled on top of inference. This is exactly the sort of thing that makes me wonder why MPs are paid so well in the first place. Generous salaries and pensions certainly havenโ€™t guaranteed better political judgment. Maybe public office should attract more people interested in service and fewer people terrified of losing the job. And spare me the pearl-clutching because Pierre speaks bluntly. Politics affects mortgages, grocery bills, jobs, investment and whether projects actually get built. Canadians deserve plain language. As for CTV, criticize Pierre all you want, while sucking the Government tit. That is โ€œjournalismโ€ now I guess. But when interpretation starts being presented as though it came out of Harperโ€™s mouth, Iโ€™m calling BS too. And yes, Iโ€™ll say it plainly: fuck that kind of journalism. youtu.be/K_QXRI8WorM?si=0dq0โ€ฆ
