Mohamed Adam Almosawi, 22, residing in Blaine, was sentenced this week on a felony conviction for Criminal Sexual Conduct in the 3rd Degree involving a victim age 13/14 that occurred in May 2025.
His 304-day jail sentence was stayed in a downward departure from guidelines, and he was instead ordered to serve 60 days in jail on work release by Judge Ryan Bies, and the crime was downgraded to a gross misdemeanor.
The two met on Snapchat, and Almosawi offered her $200 for sex. Almosawi picked up the child and drove to a park, where he asked her if she wanted to get in the back seat.
As the child climbed over, she discovered a machete in the back seat. Almosawi moved it into the front seat, without threatening her with it, and sexual acts ensued.
Almosawi gave the child $240.
In the departure report, Judge Bies said the crime was "less onerous" than usual because the child reportedly told Almosawi she was 17, and because Almosawi didn't use physical coercion.
Following his release from jail, Almosawi will serve 2 years of probation.

A former employee told Alpha News last week that Ahmed's autism center is "fraudulent," an allegation Ahmed denies.

Ahmed appears to have worked on Klobuchar’s first U.S. Senate campaign in 2006. Other articles identify her as a staffer. Campaign finance records suggest she was paid nearly $8,000.
The Klobuchar and Flanagan campaigns have not responded to requests for comment.
