I'm not mad about it. I'm frustrated that, instead of reviewers giving the Quest any form of credit, trying to basically help people make the right decision for them, the Quest isn't even considered an option. It's not that we have an extremely capable machine for $600 that can do a ton, but we are having to give up some data to do it. Instead, we are basically told that one option shouldn't even be an option because the data thing is such a big deal and no one wants to sell their data and it's so horrible, and people aren't even giving it a chance. It's basically like, let's face it, these reviewers objectively said, this thing comes from Meta, I never ever want to bother using it, and they made up their mind before they even put the thing on. And then they are reviewing the Steam Frame with rose-colored glasses, but the idea of a reviewer is to be objective and give the pros and cons for both devices and help people make their own decisions, not just rave for 20 minutes about the things you don't like and then not give any credit to the positives because you just don't want to see them. If I were to be objective, I would actually praise the Steam Frame for a lot of things, and I would give some cons. At the end of the day, those who are privacy-focused and don't mind spending extra money, they should probably go with the Steam Frame. You are losing battery life and you are gaining power. You are losing colored passthrough, but there are unique mods you can do. It's slightly more comfortable, but you have to pay for a lot of unnecessary things and it costs like twice the price. But you are going to get a more privacy-focused device that can run some Steam games on device and it has a little more power. This is how it should be talked about, the pros and the cons. Instead, we are hearing people ranting and raving about a privacy policy for like 30 minutes of their one-hour review. While I understand it would be a big deal to some people, there should also be an equal amount of time praising the low cost, talking about the benefits, talking about third-party strap options. I'm just saying we need to be balanced and not let our feelings come through so strong in the reviews, and I think it's pretty obvious that these feelings and the hatred towards Meta is coming out in these reviews.

Finally, stop talking about comfort with the base head strap without talking about the ability to replace head straps. If the base head strap is uncomfortable, and there are a million replacements for $30, that is not a big deal in the review. Just tell them to buy a different head strap.
