The problem is that permanent visas can vote!! Citizenship should take 10 years and no voting In that time there should be no FHBG or Centrelink benefits including no family tax benefit or dole or childcare subsidies

There is no reasonable justification for allowing non-citizens to buy property in Australia at all

This just reminded me, about 10 years ago I did some work with a Chinese accountant. Property prices were still all the talk back then. She said all her friends would buy Australian property then sell and go back to China and never pay CGT because it’s self reporting and the ATO didn’t have the systems linked to the land titles office. I think they still don’t. Anyway I vaguely recall she said that was a reason they brought in foreign vendor withholding tax. Just repeating a story so forgive me if some of this isn’t completely accurate. We’re getting bent over a barrel in more ways than one

Here in Perth, I'm seeing houses get snapped up the moment they're listed online. If you're an Aussie and you're even lucky enough to work hard to save for a deposit, you won't even make it to a viewing because so many more affordable ones are just going to quick foreign buyers.

They all have properties overseas, the Indian and nepal communities borrow against their family homes and use that as a deposit here.

Prioritise citizens first. Cut the migration madness and start remigration.

🏠 stress is conditioning young Australians to expect instability. When basic security feels out of reach, people stop building a future and start managing uncertainty. That delays independence, strains relationships, and makes starting a family feel risky rather than hopeful.

My neighbours are Chinese and I am not happy. All they do is cook Chinese food and it makes me hungry, so I order Chinese food on uber eats all the time. It’s costing me a fortune so I want them deported

Even if screenshot genuine, facts stand: person & partner working, both earn decent salary, have saved $, family unit, responsible citizen keen to invest in the economy here. Unlike you & your meth-addicted, dysfunctional followers seeking govt handouts to fund your lifestyle

Another poorly thought out and executed hare-brained policy from Albanese’s clown show of a government. At worst this using taxpayer dollars for the importation and buying of votes. Either way, one wonders what level of incompetence warrants the GG to boot this government out.

These are the same politicians who are calling Putin & Iran our ENEMY. It's not the Iranian Gov who shut-down our car industry, it's not Putin who welcomed non-White immigrants to AUS. Our politicians can't even stop Muzzies taking-over the Opera House; but they'll LIBERATE IRAN?

When you realise the purpose is to prop up prices and not to help young people into the market, it all makes sense.

When wasn’t it the case with PR, in a scheme that’s been around for 25 years 🤦. Do you pick some new bullshit each day & sometimes post more than once a day about it? Your next exposé should be that 191 visa holders can sponsor eligible family members for PR who then use FHOG.

These are permanent residents with the same tax obligations as Australian citizens. Why should they not get acess to the subsidy their tax pays for? The housing problem is orthogonal - if the country does not have capacity for them then the PR should not be granted.

I would be weary about relying on a random post to evidence government policy. First home buyer subsidies are not eligible for people who own or who have owned property

Generally most skilled migrants will come with capital and skills that mean they will be looking at houses that exceed the grant limit anyway. Our house was nearly double the limit.

A first home owner grant is a taxpayer funded handout. Why should our tax money go to help someone buy a home in Australia that may not even be paying tax here?
