Having the entire season on the line every single Saturday is what made college football so special. Sometimes even just winning isn’t enough. You have to win like you’re supposed to win. A nail biter to a terrible team could come back to haunt you on Selection Sunday. Scheduling matters. Barely beat a bunch of 4-8 teams and lose to the only ranked team you played? You might be on the outside looking in. Why do you think Conference pride is a thing that only exists in college football? Because sometimes you need a little help. If you lose a close conference game you might have to hold your nose and pull for them next Saturday to run the table to get you both in. Nobody actually believes Missouri and Kentucky are actually good teams. The top of the SEC needs the Committee and the voters to believe they are so that close loss to Georgia might possibly be negated by convincing wins over Missouri and Kentucky. Ain’t no damn body chanting “SEC SEC!!!” during basketball season. You’re a retard that doesn’t understand sports. You’re on the payroll try to squeeze as much revenue from a product before killing the brand like a corporate CEO writing himself huge bonus checks and a Golden Parachute severance package right before taking the company in to bankruptcy and resigning. You’re a parasite. You’re Nevin Shapiro in a suit. You belong nowhere near a college campus.
We have teams going 10-2 and 11-1 and not making the playoffs. This makes no sense in literally any other sport, even the same sport at different levels.

“OSU is a completely different offense without him.” Are you suggesting their offense is going to get good and remember that there’s 60 minutes in a game instead of 45?
The biggest thing from yesterday unfortunately is the Sayin injury. OSU is a completely different offense without him. Where do they go from here? I don’t see a Cardale Jones type situation here, but we’ll see how it plays out over the remainder of the season.

Looks to me like you’re going out to a middle aged Karen with no ass because you refused to go get the manager.

First I want to say that I love @LandonTengwall content. If you’re not following here and on YouTube, you need to go fix that right now. This is a perfect illustration of why a 24 team playoff is a bad idea for college football. You never see people this passionate over balls and strikes in August. Basketball fans are never this heated over a missed foul call in December. Nobody cares if the Lions had an ineligible receiver down field against the Bears in September. Because those games DON’T MATTER!!! Only in college football can a blown call in the middle of the season cost a team a shot at the championship. We’re fans of college football because every game matters.

Having your hands outside the defenders chest isn’t a hold if you aren’t clearly restricting them. He then takes this right hand off, chops down the long arm and Wilson goes down.

I really expected to run into Bigfoot, find out the moon landing was a Hollywood stunt, and sail off the edge of this motherfucking flat earth before I expected to see people claiming that the refs cheated to HELP MIAMI WIN!!! But apparently I’ve woken up in the 21st century of Idiocracy. Listen, FSU fans and all you bitches that hate watch Miami hoping you get to see us lose. FSU played a good game. You played A+ and almost pulled out the win on a C+ night for us. Keep that same energy the rest of the season and who knows? You might actually win some games. In the meantime, sit down, shut up, and hold ya fucking L like a man.

No need to apologize. I appreciate you confirming that the delay was due to him having to pull a flag out of his ass instead of his pocket.
Sorry it was traumatic. But now you know the rest of the story. Apologies that it was painful.

Making kids, especially young boys, excited about the future and wanting to be a part of building that future is one of the most important things Elon Musk is doing to save civilization, and it’s the one thing he’ll never get credit for. He’ll be remembered for rockets, spaceships, and robots, but his greatest contribution to humanity will be making boys excited to grow up to be men again.
I wonder what’s more inspiring to children: flying cars or getting pumped full of hormones and told you’re not who you are?

No. You should definitely do the exact opposite of what the fans of the sport want. Ask NASCAR how that business model works out. The Daytona 500 used to be the 2nd most watched sporting event behind only the Super Bowl. Now it draws about the same as Virginia vs. NC State. To get a seat at Bristol Motor Speedway you used to have to buy a ticket years in advance. Now the most fans that venue has seen was a gimmick game between Tennessee and Virginia Tech. So yeah. CFB should definitely go ahead with something the fans are overwhelmingly against.
but most fans don't want the players paid, want no transfer portal, and wish it was 1998 ...should we follow their lead there too?

Okay Beans on Toast. We’ll have fun with flying cars while you’re busy trying to figure out whether beans on toast is Halal or Haram. Stay classy, West Pakistan.
It is. The US increasingly epitomises hyper-capitalist showmanship: a circus of clowns selling spectacle as innovation, with little added value to humanity. Europe still has a sense of class: engineering with purpose, creating things people actually want, need and can use. Spectacle vs substance

In just a few short years Elon has taken @X from advertisers boycotting the platform to the platform boycotting advertisers.
Going forward, all advertising on 𝕏 will be subject to a reasonable esthetic standard. Advertisers who post ads that are ugly, shrill, strident or overstate claims about their product will be barred from advertising.

I can already picture myself yelling “GO FUCK UP TRAFFIC IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY” as I do a barrel roll over the two illegal CDL drivers riding side by side on I-95.
Hard to think of a wilder product unveiling. Not sure how quickly drivers are going to be leaping over each other in traffic, but damn, this was a cool way to introduce Roadster to the world.

COLLEGE GAMEDAY IS IN PROVO SATURDAY. BYU fans, Notre Dame fans: Bring a STOP 24 sign if you're going. Follow event rules and tag us in your photos. Imagine ESPN discussing 24 teams while fans behind the desk are saying NO. #Stop24

Thanks to the magic of SI, we can stop arguing with friends over these issues and start solving problems. Thanks to a big assist from @grok , I was able to draft a plan that completely protects Social Security for anyone 50+ and approaching retirement while gradually transitioning everyone else into private retirement accounts such that those 25 and younger would fully own their retirement by 2050. By indexing the 12.4% payroll tax contributions to the S&P500, by 2050ish the fund would be holding 10s of trillions of dollars. The revenue share of that would mean that the max monthly benefit for my plan would be $7,600/month vs. $4,152 under the current model. And that’s after a 15% withholding to retire the social security debt that has been added to the deficit. Retirees get more money, the tax stays the same and eventually becomes a full contribution, and a small portion of the excess RoI begins to pay down the national debt instead of adding to it. You can read the draft here. If you like it, please share with your friends, Congressmen, and Senators. gofile.io/d/eDcTbgJQ
I keep seeing these arguments and it leaves out the fact that the older population paid into Social Security their entire lives with the promise it would be there for them one day. It could easily be said that it would be morally reprehensible to rip it from them.

So I created a plan that: Protects Social Security for anyone 50+; Gradually transitions those 26-49 in to a private retirement account; Gives 100% ownership of retirement accounts to those 25 and under. I did this by transitioning a percentage of the current 12.4% payroll tax into an S&P500 index fund. The percentage of the tax that goes into the fund increases every year so that workers 26-49 own a portion of their retirement account from 1% at 49 and 99% at 26. By 2050, those who are currently 25 and younger would own 100% of their retirement accounts. Not only was I able to do this without raising the 12.4% payroll tax, I crafted the plan so that a portion of the return on investment goes to service the national debt. By 2050, the fund is worth several tens of trillions of dollars and the RoI that goes to debt service fully retires all of the past Social Security debt, and ensures that no future borrowing for Social Security is necessary. By skimming just 4% of their excess returns the government would collect roughly $240 billion/year vs. the $200 billion/year it currently collects by keeping 100%. Here’s the bill I drafted with the help of @grok in about an hour. If you like it, please share.
Social Security is a promise America made to hardworking Americans who paid into it their entire lives. That promise is in jeopardy by 2032. The clock is ticking. We must put politics aside, work together, and save Social Security for our seniors and future generations

Counter point: I think we should replace the Super Bowl halftime show with public executions.
Hasan should face the death penalty, but making his execution public and streaming it? Beyond disgusting. Public executions are what oppressive dictatorships like Iran and Afghanistan do. It should not be happening in America.
