They gave their lives for their son.
Deborah Matias, 50, and her husband Shlomi, 49, both musicians, lived in Kibbutz Holit. She was a singer, and he taught music at a mixed Arab and Jewish high school. On October 7 they were murdered in their home while shielding their son Rotem with their bodies. Rotem, 16, was shot but survived. His sisters Shaked and Shir hid elsewhere and were unharmed.
We will always remember them.
