I was here when math went the way of computers
We’re releasing a broad range of new mathematical results produced by an internal frontier model. We’ve been consulting with the independent Advisory Group on Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence at the Institute for Advanced Study, and we have drawn on their advice and public recommendations to inform how we release these results. github.com/openai/math

Options: 1. Migrate to another system with AI, QB can't trap your data now that Grok Bot and other agents have computer use capabilities 2. Wait 6 months. QB is going to have to slash their prices to keep customers from fleeing as dozens of QB clones hit the market, many for free. For anyone outside of the software world, AI's ability to decompile/clone existing software is about to change everything
Property managers: I’m looking to move off QuickBooks Desktop, the time has come but the cost of QuickBooks Online for multiple entities seems pretty outrageous. We manage 25 LLCs with 100+ partners. What accounting software are you using? Any good alternatives to QuickBooks?

Wow. Intuit, $INTU, is down more than 58% this year. It's the worst-performing stock in the S&P 500. The maker of TurboTax and QuickBooks has lost more than half its value in 9 months.

Excellent, now you can feed our docs directly to training Gemini without even having to reformat them first
We are making Markdown files work natively across Google Drive and Docs. You can now preview .md files in Drive, open them in Docs, edit them, comment on them, and collaborate without converting the file into a Google Doc!

"Betterware" hacking is about to become a thing. 1. Find a poorly written, popular app 2. Rewrite it better with AI 3. Publish 4. Get thousands of people to login and share their credentials
Spotifast 0.12 is out! Spotify, fast, in 200MB of RAM, for all OSs. It now consumes 0% CPU when idle. spotifast.rocks/

In my 25 years in electrical engineering and digital signal processing, the halo engineers making the biggest bank have been HDL designers. They are extremely skilled and very hard to find. The best are PhD’s in communications. Opus can turn the English language into HDL, refactor your problem to one solvable by HDL, and optimize the architecture . I’m going to build a LLM benchmark based on HDL quality. Claude and I started on a build yesterday and it estimated that we could finish sometime around when the Vivado license expires in 59 days. We finished it an hour ago. Built, tested, simulated fake data, confirmed on real signals. In one day. In one day. My best estimate for a team of 2 PhD’s for this effort: 6-8 months. This is why premium Tokens won’t be $200/month forever.

In the future, road speed limits will simply be a function of GPU latency. They are currently derived from human latency

Very soon the price premium for AI will shift dramatically from pay-for-intelligence to pay-for-fast-intelligence When the top 20 models can all complete a task, the fastest model will be the winner. The 200 IQ giants will still be expensive, but not the cash cow

Napoleon clearly didn't understand what forward secrecy was
I used GPT-6 Astra to break an unsolved cipher to one of Napoleon's generals that had gone unread for 217 years. What makes this impressive isn't actually the codebreaking, but that Astra completed the entire multi-modal workflow in ~6 hours from a single image and goal. 1/6🧵

People are actually sitting on savings in a 0.1% account? That is insane!
Fascinating. Chief Economist at Apollo: agents could cause a bank run by sweeping household cash into accounts paying 3-5% instead of the 0.1% national average, causing banks to lose a large share of their cheap deposits.

2027 will be the year GPUs expand outside of datacenters in a big way. The power limitations will start pushing smaller compute installations to locations where the grid has excess capacity and no transmission. Little "storage sheds" with single racks will become economical

3% is about the same margin grocery stores make. So when you check out, the card company is earning the same amount as the store you are standing in
I’m so fucking sick of giving away 3% of all our revenue just for processing a payment. Like how is that not disrupted yet? Most ecom brands run on around 15% net. So we are giving up over 16% of our potential pre transaction fee profits to these bastards. Someone please disrupt this. It’s as if credit card processing companies are 16% equity holders in all our businesses.

I predict OpenAI is going to announce an AI psudocode library for agents to use. Large, AI written and tested blocks of psudo code and a tool for finding/integrating code blocks. Codex could then pull from it and convert to whatever language extremely efficiently

This is the wrong framing. Antigenic coding is going to make software OBSOLETE for users, not make it better. On-demand software and interfaces are about to become the norm. Also, you don't need better software when AI can just do the task the software did
I still can't get over the complete lack of impact agentic coding has had on software from a user's perspective. Our industry looks faintly ridiculous for waxing lyrical about the "agentic era" when it's had zero observable impact to the end user.
