RE: “Heritage Americans” Periodically I like to address certain issues that I know will drive off hundreds of my more idiotic followers. I consider it a necessary task to raise these sorts of issues from time to time. I like having a follower base that consists of intelligent, patriotic Americans, so when the trash takes itself out, that's a good thing. One such issue is “Heritage Americans.” I have no problem with Americans who are proud of their forebears and what they accomplished in building this nation. I myself am proud of what my ancestors accomplished in helping to build this country. So if someone uses the term “Heritage American” in that context—great! I am happy that you are able to have such pride. However, idiots like the person below misuse this term to denigrate those whose families arrived later. What people like this guy are saying is that they are superior Americans solely by dint of the fact that some of their ancestors got here sooner than those of other Americans. This is spouting a form of hereditary nobility, and is as decidedly an UN-AMERICAN concept as is possible. America was founded and built in very large part on the premise that hereditary nobility is an extremely bad thing. Millions fled Europe and came to America specifically to escape the curse of hereditary nobility and to build a place for themselves where their value came solely from their own character, skills, beliefs and actions, and not by the luck of being born into a “noble house.” George Washington was offered a chance to be an American king, and he rejected it—he intuitively understood the un-American nature of such a proposal. Pride in forebears is a good thing in America. Thinking you are superior to other Americans because those forebears exist is anti-American claptrap and those who hold such an unpatriotic, ignoble belief should probably just move back to Europe and wallow in dreams of nobility with the rest of that continent’s inbred upper class twits. I have long stood on the premise that certain cultures are incompatible with the Constitution. I support excluding immigration for those who believe in 8th Century dogmas that enslave women and eliminate freedom of religion—their beliefs are incompatible with our Constitutional order.
