Honored to graduate from the Uganda Democracy Academy. The school has shaped not just my understanding of leadership and governance, but my resolve to serve with integrity. Leadership is not a title, but a discipline practiced daily in service for others! I extend my sincere appreciation to @EUinUG, @NimdUganda for their continued support in strengthening Democratic leadership in Uganda. With deep gratitude, I thank the Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Youth Affairs @UPFYA_2008 for the trust and opportunity given to me. I carry this honor with humility and remain committed to leading with purpose. 🙏

On the political-economic front, the young People must understand and support the reasons for the economic integration of Africa in the form of the common market and for the political integration of East Africa, leading into the Political Federation of East Africa and possibly for other zones that are compatible. This is to guarantee our prosperity by creating a big and reliable market for the wealth-creators of Africa to sell their products and services and expand, while the regional Federations, guarantee our strategic security by enabling us to defend ourselves on land, in the air, at sea and in space.   It is good for the young People to be attracted by sport, music, fashion, etc. I was when I was young. Indeed, I was a footballer and a cricketer. We, however, quickly learnt that games, music, leisure, are not possible where there is no wealth or security. That is how I had to invest more than 60 years of my now 82 years in search of wealth and security for Ugandans and also some small efforts in Africa.   I am ready to debate this with the youth and all those interested in the social-media.   Signed: Yoweri K. Back in July, @UPFYA_2008, NIMD, and partners set out to build a roadmap grounded in what young people actually need. Months of real conversations with youth leaders, community members, and policymakers later, the hard data is in and validated! Today (24 Sept 2026) at #NationalYouthSymposium26, @UPFYA_2008 delivered those key insights back to the youth of Uganda. This isn't just another report—it's the foundation for the National Youth Legislative Agenda 2026–2031. It turns the National Youth Manifesto into real policy, funding, and legal reform, guaranteeing youth a direct seat at the decision-making table.

In July 2026, @NimdUganda and @UPFYA_2008 commissioned a study to guide the National Youth Legislative Agenda 2026-2031. After months of consultations with key stakeholders (young people, youth leaders, government and civil society actors), the study was completed and its findings validated. Today, 24 September, 2026, at the #NationalYouthSymposium26, @UPFYA_2008 has presented the findings to the young people of Uganda. The National Youth Legislative Agenda aims to boost youth participation in governance and democracy. It will turn the National Youth Manifesto 2026/31 into action by embedding youth demands into government policies, laws, and budgets. #NationalYouthSymposium26 #SADU @EUinUG
