Senate Democrats have a rare opportunity to pass bipartisan permitting reform that would dramatically lower energy costs for the American people. The time is now. Delaying would be futile to our efforts and good faith negotiations.

It’s funny, no one outside DC seems to think Congress should take an early vacation instead of working to pass legislation that will improve every American’s life.

Democrats want additional time to consider a deal they offered and Republicans accepted. Republicans, the president included, having accepted the offer, could "sabotage" the effort by pursuing it on the floor. Both parties win with this deal, but only one side is delaying.

Permitting reform will lower costs for American families, starting with fuel and energy prices. Would Democrats rather sink this historic bipartisan agreement than help them?

Republicans are 100% committed to permitting reform. The Democrats – specifically Chuck Schumer – don’t seem to care at all about what’s happening around the country. They seem to be happier with higher energy costs We need energy costs down. We need to be able to do construction to build things better, faster, cheaper, stronger. Chuck Schumer continues to block permitting reform.

Permitting reform is incredibly important for the economy, and this deal contains wins for Republicans and Democrats. So when you get the deal you've asked for and timing is of the essence, it's odd to say, "but we should wait until November to do it."

The Biden administration banned the manufacture of most traditional incandescent light bulbs in 2022. My LIT Act brings them back. Should the government be able to pick and choose which household products you’re allowed to buy? Would you like to buy a traditional light bulb?

Appreciated the opportunity to discuss permitting reform with the people who power Utah. The message was clear: our state and country need permitting reform to ensure Utahns can always have cheap and reliable energy.

Today's proclamations move Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante toward the Antiquities Act's "smallest area compatible" standard. My Office has argued for years that oversized monuments exceed what the statute allows. Public lands in Utah should be governed by the law, not the politics of the moment, and we will keep making that case.
