Delivering opportunities for veterans and the local community

Looking back at our annual breakfast event and still feeling inspired by the energy on the day. ✨ We wanted to share some more of our fantastic professional photos by Barbara Leatham, as they capture a morning filled with great conversations, shared insights, and a community proudly united in supporting our veterans. Thank you once again to all the supporters and partners who joined us and shared their expertise. We look forward to building on those connections. 🤝🚀 #FlashbackFriday #EntrainSpace

We were delighted to welcome Rod Cullen, Strategic Lead for Homelessness & Rough Sleeping at Essex County Council, to Entrain Space yesterday. The visit was an opportunity to showcase Entrain Space and share our vision of veterans contributing to regenerating communities while achieving a successful transition to civilian life. We had a fantastic discussion about creating sustainable opportunities for veterans and placemaking. We look forward to further engagement with the council. @Essex_CC 🤝 #EntrainSpace

Yesterday Clair and Charlie from Warm and Safe Wiltshire delivered a fantastic workshop at Entrain Space, helping our veteran residents access funding to keep their homes warm this winter. A great, practical session covering energy saving tips and financial support with fuel payments. Our thanks to Clair and Charlie for their time and expertise. ☀️👏 Warm and Safe Wiltshire is a brilliant service delivered by the Centre for Sustainable Energy in partnership with Wiltshire Council. @wiltscouncil @cse_energy #EntrainSpace #VeteransSupport #SaveEnergy #CostOfLiving

We were delighted to reveal detailed plans of how we will make Entrain Space more disability friendly during our annual breakfast event for referrers and partner organisations earlier this month. Storyboards with blueprints were displayed, and during speeches our Founder, Matthew Bell, presented the latest addition for our Wall of Thanks – in grateful acknowledgment of the funding awarded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust on behalf of the Office for Veterans’ Affairs’ Veterans (@VeteransGovUK ) Capital Housing Fund. The undercroft will redeveloped to create a new lower ground floor with disability friendly gym, wellness area, private consulting spaces and lift. There will also be a major upgrade to the current ground floor training suite, creating an accessible multi-agency support hub and hot-desking space, for partner organisations to come and work in person with all veterans. The plans include building two new accessible one-bed flats, plus making the five existing studio flats wheelchair accessible. This will bring the total number of studio, one- and two-bed homes for veterans at Entrain Space to 46, eight of which will be fully wheelchair accessible. #EntrainSpace

We marked a significant milestone at our annual event last week as we bid a very fond farewell to our colleague, Kenny. For the past few years, Kenny has dedicated himself to supporting our veterans, bringing empathy, energy, and unwavering commitment to the frontline. He’s been the on-the-ground face of Entrain Space, shaping our impact and strengthening our relationships with professional partners and referrers across the veterans’ housing and support sector. As a @RoyalNavy veteran and former Entrain Space resident, Kenny’s journey with us is one we are incredibly proud of. Presenting him with his leaving gift was a deeply moving moment and a powerful reminder of everything we have achieved together. Thank you, Kenny, for your years of tireless service, leadership, and advocacy for our veterans and the positive transition to civilian life they deserve. We wish you the very best in your future endeavours, and we will stay in touch. #EntrainSpace #Veterans

Dave, a @royalartillery1 veteran who served several tours in Afghanistan, was supported to gradually overcome his crippling social anxiety and reconnect with others through “social prescribing” by the Entrain Space team. He engaged first with our Tea & Toast mornings, then initiatives involving caring for animals and volunteering for the local carnival, building confidence to start socialising again, sharing interests and forming friendships. Dave’s journey shows how a supportive environment and a welcoming community can help transform lives, giving veterans a chance to rediscover confidence, purpose and a sense of belonging. Dave said: “The support from the team made all the difference. They took the time to understand me, encouraged me, and gently pushed me to reconnect with the world around me. I’m not the same person who walked through the door – I’ve got my confidence back, a sense of purpose and I finally feel part of a community.” #EntrainSpace #VeteranSupport

During a very hot August we welcomed a new resident to Entrain Space; a veteran who completed a long career with the @RoyalAirForce. We also said farewell to two residents as they moved on to their next life chapters, and we wish them every success. Throughout the month we continued to strengthen our links with local organisations and partners in support of our veterans, including the @wiltscouncil programmes Warm and Safe Wiltshire and Connect to Work; Grovely Riding Centre to explore volunteering opportunities for our veterans; and Wilton Town Council's public meeting to update the community on Entrain Space's progress. #EntrainSpace #VeteransSupport

It was Tea & Toast today at Entrain Space – bringing our veteran community together one cuppa at a time! ☕️💙 There’s something really special about mingling over a cuppa, some breakfasty edibles and good conversation. Always great to see familiar faces catching up alongside new faces getting to know everyone. A big thank you to Steve from NHS Op COURAGE, who gives the team a hand and is such a great support to our veterans. We really appreciate you, Steve! 👏 Have a great bank holiday everyone. Let's hope for more rain! 🌧️ @AWPNHS #EntrainSpace #VeteranSupport

Kenny was interviewed yesterday about how our funding awarded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust on behalf of the @VeteransGovUK Veterans Capital Housing Fund will help improve accessibility for veterans at Entrain Space.
Replying to @EntrainSpace

Kenny attended August's public Wilton Town Council meeting held at the Wilton Baptist Church and delivered a well-received update about Entrain Space's progress to councillors and the community. The announcement of our capital grant from the @CovenantTrust – awarded on behalf of the @VeteransGovUK' Veterans Capital Housing Fund for improving our accessibility – provided a welcome highlight during an otherwise intense and closely debated council meeting. Well done Kenny – photo caption contest anyone? 😄 #EntrainSpace #VeteransSupport

Great to see one of our @BritishArmy veteran residents making use of Kelli’s out-of-hours support last week, working around his employment hours to have some valuable one-to-one time. They discussed his move-on plan and the next steps towards achieving his longer-term housing goals. 🏡 Kelli, our Housing & Welfare Manager, holds regular evening sessions for our residents in full-time work. At Entrain Space, we understand that support needs to work around the individual, not the other way around. #EntrainSpace #VeteransSupport

We are delighted to announce that Entrain Space has been awarded a grant of just under £450,000 by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust on behalf of the Office for Veterans' Affairs Veterans Capital Housing Fund. The grant will enable us to improve accessibility across our site, creating an inclusive environment for veterans with disabilities and enabling their full access to the safe accommodation, support services, and independent-living opportunities at Entrain Space. The upgrades will include an additional seven wheelchair-accessible studio flats, a disability-friendly gym, and a new accessible multi-agency support hub. We would like to thank the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust and the Office for Veterans' Affairs for their support, and look forward to sharing updates as work progresses. @CovenantTrust @VeteransGovUK #SupportingOurForces #EntrainSpace

Kenny went along with Jamie, a @RoyalNavy veteran and Entrain Space resident, to visit the lovely Grovely Riding Centre yesterday. They met Stable Manager Gerry to discuss volunteering opportunities for Jamie, who is very keen to gain experience of a professional working stable and riding school to enhance his skills. Thanks to Gerry, and to riding teacher Cam for being in the pic with Jamie! #EntrainSpace #VeteransSupport

We love an unexpected guest, especially when they bring great opportunities with them! Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Rob Dawkins, Employment Specialist from @wiltscouncil who popped in to have a chat and met with Kenny. Rob introduced us to the Connect to Work programme, which provides tailored support to help people with health conditions, disabilities, or other barriers find and keep in employment. We are always eager to team up with local organisations. Strengthening these bonds across Wiltshire means better support, more opportunities, and a stronger network for our residents and the wider veteran community. Thank you for dropping in Rob – we look forward to developing the relationship further. #EntrainSpace #VeteransSupport

Our thanks to Clair, Energy Advisor from Warm and Safe Wiltshire, and her colleagues, for spending the time at Entrain Space to advise our resident veterans and sign-up those qualifying with appropriate funding support. Warm and Safe Wiltshire is a free energy advice service provided by @wiltscouncil to help people stay healthy in their homes and manage rising energy costs. Developing these everyday life skills is an important part of building independence in the transition to civilian life, as many veterans have not previously managed energy responsibilities during service. Advice around budgeting, understanding utility bills, and managing household energy use and costs is invaluable. We look forward to further visits by Clair and her team as they work with our veterans. #EntrainSpace #VeteransSupport

During July we welcomed a new resident to Entrain Space who served with @TheParachuteReg and said farewell to a veteran of @RiflesRegiment who moved on – we wish them both all the best for their new life stages! Throughout the month we continued to strengthen our engagement across the Armed Forces community network – attending the COBSEO AGM, visiting the South West VALOUR Hub, and taking part in the Supporting Agencies Event at Tedworth House Personnel Recovery Centre. We also had visits from welfare officers from @RoyalTankRegt and the Armed Forces Champion for the Covenant. July saw the annual Wilton Community Carnival take place, with our resident veterans' outstanding volunteering once again proving invaluable at this major community event. A big thank you to all our partners, supporters and volunteers who continue to work alongside us as we support veterans into civilian life and create opportunities beyond military service. #EntrainSpace #VeteransSupport

Success stories come in many forms, and this is one we're incredibly proud of. After joining Entrain Space from @royal_hussars and working towards his goals, one of our residents successfully returned to military service within the @BritishArmy. Seeing residents move forward, rebuild confidence and achieve their ambitions is exactly why Entrain Space exists. We wish him every success in his military career and thank him for his continued service. #EntrainSpace #VeteransSupport

Great to catch up with former resident and veteran of @TheParachuteReg, John, who dropped by to tell us how he's been getting on since moving-on to his own place, closer to his son. It's always a highlight for us to see past residents settled and thriving, which is what Entrain Space is all about, and we're proud to be part of John's journey. Thanks for popping in John – you know the door is always open! ☕️ #EntrainSpace #VeteransSupport
