Frontiers are wild, uncontrollable, anarchic. Frontiers are not balanced, regulated, unified. Frontiers do not have embedded evaluators. Frontiers cannot be paced. That's what makes them frontiers.

Just the war between entropy and extropy. It’s where we get contrast. Nothing to take personally.

Based
Pace the frontier is Silicon Valley Speak for: We spent $40B on compute and a 4-bit quantized model running on a MacBook is embarrassing our margins. You can pace the frontier all you want. My local weights don’t have a Wi-Fi connection, an ethics board, or a subscription tier.

the tension is that most people want frontier upside with settled-territory guarantees, and those two have never shipped in the same box

Pacing Frontier is like buying a super-expensive end mill and then, when you start cutting material, trying to cool it with honey instead of coolant.

That's the part most builders forget when they try to add rails early.

this seems to be a longshot since it's been a while since we were friends/acquainted BUT I’ve got a bit of bandwidth opening up and I’m thinking about taking on one or two hands-on engagements with companies that are stuck at an inflection point. Fundraising, GTM, positioning, partnerships, token stuff, whatever — basically places where a senior founder/operator can help get something consequential moving. If anyone comes to mind, send them my way. also, really awesome stuff you've done with venice - kudos!

this is the actual Frontier ✨ it’s Decentralized & Open Source it’s based on Bitcoin source code it’s beyond just LLMs it is Authentic AGI scaling to ASI 🤖
All of the behaviors listed and detailed in the quoted article and more can be programmed into an AI using crypto. Cryptographic primitives are a totally unexplored programming language for AI systems.

Embedded evaluators may change the nature of a frontier, but so does deploying frontier systems into critical infrastructure.

Frontiers don't have referees. Whoever installs brakes ends up putting up barriers others can't clear. The fight isn't whether to govern. It's who governs.

This is exactly why crypto attracted builders in the first place. Once a frontier gets fully tamed, the next wave of innovation just moves elsewhere
