Worth the listen

Missing a great friend and fierce warrior that taught me so much! I know he is with us and is fighting the battle and moving obstacles from our path still to this day. Thank you Boone for always being there for all of us and thank you to his family for backing him so he could be there for all of us.

Tomorrow marks one year since Boone Cutler passed away. I still remember the moment I learned that my friend was gone. It was difficult to reconcile his absence with the strength, purpose, and unmistakable presence he carried throughout his life. Over the past year, I have thought often about our conversations, the work he devoted to the Warfighter community, and the private time we shared when we finally met in person. I wrote the accompanying memorial and created this remembrance poster to honor Boone as the whole man I knew him to be: a soldier, Psychological Operations specialist, author, broadcaster, advocate, and Battle Buddy. He endured war, injury, institutional failure, and recovery, yet transformed those experiences into a mission to protect others, expose difficult truths, and remind struggling Warfighters that they were never alone. On the eve of this solemn anniversary, I am reminded that Boone’s earthly life ended, but his mission did not. It continues through the people he taught, the lives he helped preserve, and every person who chooses to answer despair with purpose and service. Completed a few important meetings focused on bringing real accountability, caught up with some good friends, made some new friends that came over from Ireland for the 911 ceremony in NYC and made sure to get a pie while I was here. Now heading to Vegas to speak at the Storm Summit. A lot to cover. Let’s get to work.

On the road again for a pretty serious meeting. First flight, I sit next to a guy in his 50s who immediately starts talking politics. Obvious beta. Sad to watch. Says Trump is evil and America needs to be more like Canada. Voice in my head: “Shawn, don’t end up a TikTok reel.” Deep breath. Nod. Let him talk. Then he says he’s from Michigan, near where I grew up, that it’s a completely blue state, and Gretchen Whitmer should be the next president. Voice again: “Don’t… don’t… don’t.” I turn and look at him. “You’re not from Michigan. You live there. Where are you actually from?” “Southern California.” I shake my head, tell him not to say another word to me, and put my AirPods in for the rest of the flight. Second flight: two extremely liberal Karens. Then an hour drive with another far-left progressive beta male. Finally made it. Cigar. Blues. Surrounded by firefighters from Ireland. Actual alpha warriors I can have a conversation with. 🤣

On her first deployment, she located about $50,000 in cash, stolen weapons, and narcotics. After that, the finds never stopped. Daisy completed the 400-hour THP K9 course with ease and spent her career taking the fight from street dealers all the way to an MS-13 captain.
