Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott and other Maryland Democrats urged voters Friday to approve a constitutional amendment that could make it easier to redraw the state’s congressional districts, as two new polls showed a large share of voters remain undecided about the measure. Speaking outside City Hall, Scott cast a “yes” vote on Question 3 as a response to President Donald Trump’s redistricting push in other states. Opponents say the amendment would remove state constitutional standards courts have applied to Maryland’s congressional maps. “Freedom is on the ballot,” Scott said. “My grandfather died with more rights than my son has today, including fundamental protections for the right to vote.
