A German-Syrian influencer who supports Syria’s current jihadist-led de facto regime is standing trial before the Ahaus Local Court over social media content that allegedly glorifies violence in Syria.
Prosecutors allege that, in three separate posts, he endorsed violence against members of minority communities in Syria or called for further violence:
▪️ In a video from early 2024 showing terrorists in Syria killing two restrained men, he is alleged to have added commentary describing the killings as good, right, and important, while calling for further killings of members of minority communities.
▪️ In a Facebook video posted on December 31, 2024, he allegedly endorsed the killing of members of minority communities and called for the violence to continue.
▪️ In a post dated July 21, 2025, amid intense fighting in Syria, he allegedly expressed a wish for an entire city, along with everyone in it, to be burned.
The court determined that further investigation was needed and adjourned the September 29 hearing, referring the case back to police for additional investigation.
Investigators must now establish, through technical evidence, who actually published the material, as email and IP address data have not yet been fully examined. They must also determine whether the videos were edited or manipulated. A new hearing date will be set once the additional investigation is complete.
