The institutions are coming. STX provides the capacity for Bitcoin staking. Anchorage brings this model to institutions through @Stacks. The first institutions are already on board for liquid Bitcoin staking through stBTC, and with partnerships like these that will only accelerate.
Bitcoin staking on Stacks: earn native BTC, with your principal staying on Bitcoin. Announced this week: Anchorage Digital will enable institutional Bitcoin staking with Stacks. Here's how Anchorage CEO and co-founder Nathan McCauley puts it 👇

Everyone's reading this as "Anchorage adds another integration." It's not that. Quick context if you're not deep in @Stacks; Back in July, Bitcoin got an upgrade called PoX-5 that lets you lock BTC (with a bit of blockstack:native) and earn weekly rewards paid back in BTC itself no wrapping it, no sending it to an exchange, no trusting a lending desk. It just sits on Bitcoin's own chain and earns. What @Anchorage announced is that this is now something their clients can just... turn on. Here's the part that's easy to skip past; Anchorage isn't some new fintech discovering Bitcoin yield. It's the custodian already holding BTC for @BlackRock's ETFs, @Strategy's treasury, @Grayscale's trusts. Bitcoin that exists at those addresses for one job sit still, stay audited, don't move. This's the Bitcoin that just got handed an on/off switch for yield, without leaving the vault it was already sitting in. Why "federally chartered" matters more than it sounds: none of these institutions have to find a new custodian, pass a new compliance review, or explain a new counterparty to their board. The rail was already approved. Only the feature is new. Also, this doesn't mean the switch flips tomorrow, institutions don't move on headlines but the reason they used to give, "there's no compliant way to earn on this," just stopped being true. I'm watching to see who flips it first, Kudos Team Stacks. blockstack:native $BTC

Institutional capital validates Bitcoin Staking. Liquid staking makes that yield usable across @Stacks.
Institutions lead adoption, prove the product with real capital, and that trust is what brings Bitcoin into Stacks and puts it to work for everyone who follows. Via @muneeb

Dear @GracyBitget, I would like to bring to your attention a serious incident that occurred on Bitget yesterday as a second-order effect of the hack. Despite the exploit occurring only hours earlier, with withdrawals still frozen, Bitget made a delisting announcement for $DOG. The combination of the $DOG delisting announcement, the inability for users to withdraw, and broader trust concerns following the hack resulted in a significant price dislocation event for $DOG on Bitget. Making a delisting announcement while withdrawals are paused, particularly just hours after a major exploit and during a period of heightened market uncertainty, is highly abnormal for an exchange. This is the type of behavior one might expect from smaller, less reputable exchanges, but not from an established and respected exchange such as Bitget. As a result, $DOG's price on Bitget has significantly decoupled from prices on other exchanges, directly impacting Bitget users who hold or trade $DOG. Bitget has been a popular and trusted venue for trading $DOG for two and a half years, and it is disappointing to see longtime $DOG holders negatively affected in this way after being loyal to Bitget for so long. Furthermore, $DOG is a major cryptocurrency project with one of the strongest and most active memecoin communities in all of crypto. It is difficult to understand the decision to delist a $100M+ asset like $DOG, which has generated more than $1B in trading volume on Bitget, while the exchange continues to list hundreds of significantly smaller assets with communities that are only a small fraction of the size of the $DOG Army. On behalf of the $DOG Army, I would therefore like to formally request that Bitget reconsider this decision and reinstate $DOG spot trading. Doing so would help address the market dislocation created under these unusual circumstances and demonstrate Bitget's commitment to its longtime users. Thank you for your attention to this matter. We also wish Bitget the best in recovering the stolen assets and resolving any other issues arising from the hack. Sincerely, $DOG Army

Bitcoin staking on @Stacks just got a new institutional gateway. Anchorage Digital @Anchorage, home to America's first federally regulated crypto bank, is building support for Bitcoin Staking on Stacks, allowing institutions to fund a BTC Bond directly from their Anchorage account while keeping the BTC on Bitcoin L1 and receiving rewards in BTC. For Bitcoin, this adds another path for institutions to put idle BTC to work without wrapping, bridging, rehypothecating or handing it to a third party. For $STX, the significance is the infrastructure around it; institutional Bitcoin staking still requires the paired STX stake, creating another connection between institutional BTC capital and the Stacks economy. Bitcoin is becoming more than an asset to hold. Stacks is building the rails to make it productive. more info: anchorage.com/press-room/anc… @zeroauthdao @Stacks @Anchorage

The capital layer for Bitcoin is coming to Singapore. See you at @DeFinition_evt.
Zest Protocol joins DeFinition as a sponsor. @ZestProtocol is the capital layer for Bitcoin, where BTC stays in a self-custodial vault on Bitcoin's L1, and holders borrow stablecoins against it on EVM chains. October 7, Singapore

This is a different game 😎 Bitcoin DeFi is the real DeFi 👌
One stBTC is now worth 1.0017 sBTC on @Stacks. That ratio is how stBTC pays. Bonded sBTC earns Bitcoin Staking rewards, and those rewards are added to the sBTC backing each stBTC instead of being paid out separately. Hold stBTC and your claim on sBTC grows every day.

Need cash? Don't sell your Bitcoin. Borrow USDC against your BTC in the Xverse app. Your collateral keeps earning while it's locked. Repay or borrow more whenever you want. No one to approve it. No one to ask permission. It's all in your hands now. Just use Xverse. *Rates are variable. Liquidation risk applies.

Bitcoin Staking removes bridge risk, smart contract risk, and forced sale risk, concentrating everything into one transparent, underwritable STX position. Thoughts from @muneeb:
