The cancellation mob bullied me into a mental hospital.  In 2023 my comedy show was cancelled, when I spoke up against transgender ideology. I was particularly concerned about vulnerable women in prison, whose right to a single sex space had been overruled.  I was branded a transphobe and a bigot. I felt abandoned by my community and my reality disintegrated.  I went into a state of shock. I was unable to take care of my basic needs for food, water and sleep. I became delirious. I was sectioned under the Mental Health Act.  In the hospital I refused to take medication, which was making me feel worse. That meant that I was wrestled to a bed by four men. A nurse then pulled down my underwear and injected sedatives into my bare bottom.  The hospital wanted to keep me on a Section 3, meaning I would have been held against my will, potentially for months. Forced medication with debilitating side effects, like slurred speech, loss of motor skills and incontinence. Then due to unpaid rent and not being entitled to benefits while in the hospital. I would have lost my social housing, becoming homeless or worse -  institutionalised.  In the hospital, my phone had been confiscated, because staff had become aware of my posting on X. I had to get a solicitor and an advocate to get off Section 2. Even after a tribunal ruled I could not be kept on Section 2, doctors assessed me to potentially be held on Section 3.  By the Grace of God, I had broken out in hives. A side effect of the medications I had been forced to take. It’s only because the medications had to be stopped that I could articulate coherently in the tribunal and the follow up meeting with two doctors, attempting to hold me on Section 3. Chillingly, a psychiatrist warned me on my release “If you are ever arrested. Like at a protest. You will be straight on a Section 3.” I have never been arrested in my life and I can only think that he would mention protests as the hospital staff were aware of my political activism.  It’s the most terrifying experience of my life, and the threat of a Section 3 over me is the reason that I haven't spoken much about it over the last three years.  Being deprived of my liberty was one thing, but being forced to take medications which hurt, rather than helped me was a trauma I don’t think I can describe. I was treated like a crazy person, for telling the truth that men are not women. I was punished for defending single sex spaces for vulnerable women and girls.  This study shows that I am not the only person who has been driven to despair, for sharing beliefs that are supposed to be legally protected.
