I always wondered why Marine One landed on grass. Trump would then walk on the grass to the WH. Not even a sidewalk or walkway. This is 100x better.

We have no real comment on the White House helipad , on its users or any of it. But there's nothing like grass. People work hard on their lawns. The stars of baseball and football run on it. People get painted picnicking on it. (Think Dejeuner sur L'Herbe)

It’s exquisitely beautiful. The way he is having our national treasures in DC cleaned up, displaying America’s pride and history is beyond comprehension. This makes so much sense for the President and his wife to walk on a sidewalk rather than grass.

The newer Marine One (Sikorsky VH-92A Patriot) is heavier and more powerful than the older VH-3D Sea King and VH-60N models, with downward-directed exhaust and stronger rotor downwash that scorches and tears up grass.
