Work as hard and as much as you want to on the things you like to do the best. Don't think about what you want to be, but what you want to do.

Write more. Write to think. Write until you're no longer confused. Write about the problems you already solved. Write for the person you were 2 years ago. Write so you never lose what took you years to figure out. A simple writing habit can change absolutely everything.

Betting on yourself, and watching yourself pull it off, is the most addictive feeling in the world. Unmatched rush.

who are the philosophical founders of this decade? clear thinkers who aren’t chasing money and status games. people who have a myriad of interests and love to read, write, and maybe would have been a poet in another lifetime

A wise mentor once told me: "Before you play the game, study the winners. Before you build a company, study the founders who came before you. Before you write a book, study the authors you admire. Originality comes after apprenticeship, not before it."

We're open-sourcing Rebalancer, the assignment-problem solver Meta has used for resource allocation across our infrastructure for over nine years. Given a set of objects and a set of bins, Rebalancer assigns one to the other to optimize your objectives under your constraints, including hardware placement, service and task placement, traffic routing, and more. It separates how a problem is specified from how it's stored, solved, and debugged, with both an optimal MIP solver and a parallelized local search solver. At Meta it solves ~40 million assignment problems a day across 30+ problem formulations. P99 solve time is 12 seconds on a problem with 265k objects and 3.2k bins. 🔗 Read more on our engineering blog: engineering.fb.com/2026/09/2…

Watched a really nice talk from the @MicrosoftAI team on how they're fine-tuning models to get better at knowledge work (like using Excel.) I think the Jev/decision model hype is pointing to specialised, efficient models/agents being the next wave. Will link the talk below
