When I was very young, I got into a scrap with one of my sisters or one of my cousins out of my grandparents' Texas home.
I can't remember all the details, but I'm pretty sure it involved hitting each other with pool noodles.
My grandad took me by the shoulder when I tried to complain about being hit and said, "That's not how that works. Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander."
He had to explain what he meant, but that was a valuable lesson that I've kept with me for a long time.
Hit someone, they might hit you back. Make fun of someone, they might make fun of you back. Make a meme, you might get a meme in return. Even if you're the loudest to cry, it doesn't mean you are right and they're wrong.
So when I come across Tom Buck behaving like a fool from Proverbs just so he can "rescue" a woman who's having to deal with that reality, all I can do is shake my head and wish that my grandad had had a talk with him too.
